....and very interesting that chaos daemons, once thought to be the uber-army for tournies with the infamous screamer-star and the new daemon factory, haven't cracked the top ten at a North American GT since LVO! While Tyranids, decried by the interwebs as non-competitive has had SEVEN GT top ten placings including two wins since LVO! oh interwebs... you amuse me so

I'd be interested to see what the CSM players brought in their lists. I am however shocked to see so many Imperial Knights in those top 10.

oh interwebs... you amuse me so Codex Releases since 6th Ed / Internet Reaction Necrons / "OMG Cron Air unstoppable!" Dark Angels / "Bolter Banner Bike Spam Unstoppable!" Chaos Space Marines / "Bad dex is bad, Heldrake is only saving grace" Chaos Daemons / "Warpstorm is lolbad, no one will ever play it" Tau / "OMG Missile Spam So OP" Eldar / "Meh, they aren't Tau" Space Marines / "White Scars OP! Everything else crap!" Inquisition / "Lol Allies are broken now!" Astra Militarium / "Meh, pretty awful" Imperial Knights / "Lol, they are really pushing LoW on us" Tyranids / "Lol, such nerf, they are unplayable!" Interestingly, Every dex perceived as bad (or as a mono-build dex), is represented in the top tens on that site. Therefore, I conclude that the Internet can't compute for skilled players and meta-gaming.

Look at all the Space Marines in the top 15 at BAO....
The Scars list that won was based around a combat command squad as well, which is interesting....I haven't seen those in quite a while. I'm hopefully going to get a rundown from Julio Rodriguez, who finished 5th, but only lost one game (his 1st, against the eventual winner) with a White Scar Rhino Rush list.

I feel as if some how, we called that? That maybe Nids weren't as bad as the internet said?

Leave it to an Eldar player to undersell the internet reaction to Eldar. And the metagame is shaping up about where I thought it would with the changes in 7th. I fully expect the new Space Wolves codex to shake it all up again though. Also Imperial knights are amazing hammer units, I wouldn't sell them short on their ability to carry games as long as they have proper anti air support. Awesome model and good rules, I'm surprised there aren't -more- in the top 10s of the various tournaments.
