A lot of smaller Kickstarters crop up from time to time that aim to fund a specialty line of minis or otherwise fly under the radar.
Here's a couple I came across that may interest some:
Ending Friday, Oct 10 - Green Alliance - a sci-fi 28mm orc (ork) army with a WW2 theme by Maxmini.eu. I guess they are a Polish-based bits/conversion shop(?). Offering a full line of minis and vehicles with lots of character. Minis stated to be metal bodies with resin arms and heads. Vehicles will be primarily resin. GW-esque cost - $35 US from 10 troops, vehicles/tanks $35-40. Shipping costs extra, but are reduced the more you pledge.
Ending Sunday, Oct 26 - Afterlife by Anvil Industries - 28mm sci-fi skirmish game, expanding on one of their existing lines. Existing stuff is quite well reviewed. Nice, thematic look to the two factions.

The Afterlife game was featured in the Beasts of War Weekender --> Starts around 47:30 mark <-- Looks like a neat rule system and the Breach & Clear mechanic they play through is pretty cool. Models look pretty crisp and have good word of mouth.

Afterlife was funded shy of £42,000 (£30,000 funding goal) with some pretty nice additions. Projected delivery of models in Feb 2015, with rule development ongoing.
