Lol, I love how the Skaven spells don't have types.

So just to be funny, I think I might write a list involving the Eternity King and then use a 60 man spear horde and FIGHT IN 6 RANKS!!! MWAHAHAHA fear the multitudes of S3 attacks!

Also I have to say Tyrion, Avatar of Khaine is MASSIVELY underwhelming. 5 attacks? 700 points? Seems a bit much. Although he IS packing essentially a Great Cannon in combat. Also not a fan of the useless (in my opinion) bound spell. With all the other things you should be throwing dice at with End Times spells, why give him a crappy raise dead?

Although looking more at Tyrion, other than that silly bound spell he is a beast. 6A (forgot frenzy), WS10, I10 so pretty much reroll against anything non-ASF, auto-wound d6 is quite scary as well. I guess I was just so taken aback by the bound spell that I didn't realize how scary he can actually be. Perhaps I will try out the Aestyrion list once I get my hands on ET:Khaine and make ogres/daemons/anything multi-wound weep sweet tears of sadness! bwahahahaha As hard as Tyrion hits, I think Malekeith, Eternity King is a little better overall for an army, although much less of a CC monster. Ignoring multiple wounds is really nice for him, but he has no ward save to speak of against magical attacks which I think knocks him down to an appropriate level. The free 20" walk between worlds every remaining moves, letting murderous prowess reroll ALL failed wounds within 12" and fighting in an extra rank within 12" makes him a really strong overall choice for an army. Separate note: what are we planning to do within our group with ET:Khaine? Also what is the consensus on magic item selection? I have seen debates saying that the ET lists only get access to BRB magic items, or that they only get items from their respective books. I'm of the latter opinion (so what that means for DE players is they need either a HE elite or a HE BSB to carry the BotWD that makes you salivate so much ).

I personally have zero idea what to do about end times... my biases from 40k (play the game as written)don't necessarily apply here. I just have no clue what to do about the new way to play this game... ...luckily I'm sure by the next tourney someone will have figured out how to handle this, or we'll get a clearer direction of what lies ahead for the game...I hope

Are we sure there will be 5 books? I was under the impression there would only be 4 ET books before 9th drops. Given what has been shown so far, and if ET are indeed designed to work for 9th I would hazard a guess 9th won't be a HUGE change from 8th, more like a cleanup than an overhaul. Could be completely wrong though!

I’m hoping one of the remaining books does something magically amazing for Skaven. So I can sell/trade mine, lol.

I would rather they get a new army book than an ET list since they already have 13 pages of FAQ, but doubt that will happen. Maybe there will be a miniature "fix it" set of rules in w/e ET book they end up in. Something that just clarifies a ton of their rules/erratas them to make sense for 8th/9th.

The rules clarifications are essentially all already in the FAQ (which is < 9 pages, btw). I'm not defending it's complexity, but we should keep in perspective that when a book comes out and crosses an edition, there's stuff that needs clarified. Brets & Wood Elves aren't inherently "random & chaotic", nor does their stuff generally have big (good or bad) consequences, so it's easy to see why Skaven's ruleset has ended up this way. They also broke new ground with the Unique units (Bell/Furnace- which are essentially q's about how a new unit type works & interacts in many ways) which needed clarification. I think about Lizardmen for example- looking to play them there's already unanswered q's I have (and they don't have an FAQ) but not many people complain. They leave it to the Lizzie forum/players to figure out. I'd personally rather they have an official FAQ before Skaven has a new book. I know Skaven gets a lot of hate, but I think in perspective it's understandable why it is the way it is. I think a good relationship with players & involving them in SOME decision-making (i.e. rules) would be very valuable. Now I'm ranting, lol, but at the end of the day, I think that would solve a lot of problems. (i.e. a Beta released to a few top players to try to bend/break, before releasing a rulebook)
