Well this does seem to go with the "coming next week" psychic hint we got with the last white dwarf.... "There has been a lot of chatter coming my way about Zoanthropes and Venomthropes being no longer on the Games Workshop webstore. Today we have a little bit of direct information from the Games Workshop Customer Service. This was reported earlier on "Warhammer Fest & Golden Demon 2014 on Chaptermasters.com" chaptermasters.com/ via Jon on Chaptermasters.com “Hello *******, thank you for your email. Unfortunately, the Zoanthrope is no longer available in our webstore and there are no plans to produce more. I’m sorry to have disappointed you this time. Kind regards, Lisa Games Workshop Customer Service” Perhaps something completely new is coming?....... "

Well, zoans really could use a new model. Shannon, how old was the most current model? 4th edition or was it 5th?

all I know is I'm real tired of them doing faceplants and losing chips of paint every time I use them... even with the bases weighted down... plastic combo kit is what I'm thinking... zoans, venomthropes and maybe, just maybe doomy might come back

Pretty sure it's the model that released near the 3rd ed codex (2ish years into 3rd ed)

and here we have some news already!
From Faeit:
"Another Tyranid release is scheduled for pre-orders, not this weekend, but the following weekend. We are looking at a Venomthrope/ Zoanthrope dual box set release. There had been a lot of speculation on what was going to be coming regarding the Venomthrope and Zoanthrope, and today we finally have some answers. Check this out..... Please remember that this is early information, and as such very much a rumor at this moment. via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 The box kit for tyranids coming out next weekend is a Venomthrope-Zoanthrope dual kit that will come with 3 models. The exciting part is that there is a new zoanthrope character upgrade called a Neurothrope, which very much sounds like the old Doom of Malanti. it comes with a spirit leech -warp charge 1, that targets an enemy unit within 18". Leadership check on 3d6 or suffer a wound by each point the test was failed with no armour or cover saves. Each wound also adds 1 to your dice pool for Warp Blasts. "

more... and pic!
"There are images now out as of 30 minutes ago or so of the Neurothrope upgrade for Zoanthropes, and showing the new box kit. Very cool, and definitely worth checking out!
Here is a link to the latest leaked images that are now flowing around the internet. The images were posted by necrotyr on Warseer imgur.com/a/fgaiE

and...
"via an anonymous source on Faeit 212 I have some more details for you on the Neurothrope the Zoanthrope and Neurothrope have the same stat lines, and unit composition is 1. The unit may include up to 5 additional Zoanthropes, and if the unit is 3 or more, you can upgrade one model to a neurothrope.
Both are psykers mastery level 2, with the obvious shadows of the warp, synapse, and come with the standard warp field 3++. In addition to warp blast, ta brood with a neurothrope knows spirit leech.
The leaks are out, but the primary difference for the models is a large horn above its head, and some spiked blades or horns coming off of a protruding spine that arcs above the back of its head. "
