Out of curiousity, what would be a good time to try and get people down for Infinity at Nexus? A lot of the days are already taken so I'm just trying to figure out when would be convenient for people that are interested. 3rd Edition is coming out soonish so I thought I might put out feelers.

I'm interested! But being busy limits my availability for more games.
WM is my primary obviously - that being said, I'd love to take even one Tues or Fri a month and get in 2-3 infinity games or something like that.

Hmm alright, should we try to do a monthly thing or perhaps bi-weekly? Keep it relatively casual and small tournaments for fun every now and then? I know Mike has a tournament pack in that has ITS points and some other things if people are interested.

What size is commonly played? The game always looked interesting, but I never had time....a new improved edition might sucker me in to at lest trying it out again.

Well no one's really playing yet, but when starting I would say 150 points is an excellent number to work with. That's pretty much a starter box, and you can always proxy a model. To try and sell you on the new edition I will say that everything that is known so far suggests that it will be easier to pick up, and a better method of looking up rules. Some rules have been changed entirely, but for the better.
I should point out that when you move up to 300 points in Infinity you'll still have 20 models at the most on the table. 20 is the extreme as well. It's also not better by default. Quality troops also help out and I've played plenty of games at the 300 point level with a ten man list and found I wasn't lacking in any particular area. What you'll find with Infinity is that very few models are outright bad. Everything generally has a role and if you can make something that's unpopular work more power to you.

Last time I tried, I got a bit overwhelmed trying to figure out just what to actually use, and the starter box I picked played with a bunch of special rules that made it extra confusing at the time. I'll at very least take a long hard look at the rules whenever they drop, I've always enjoyed small scale skirmish games like that.

The major thing with Infinity is that you really need to limit what special rules you go in with at the start. Learn the basic mechanics and bring them into play one by one. As soon as you get a handle on them they actually come to you quite naturally, it's just a bit overwhelming to learn them all at once. Especially if you've never played a proper game before. Anyways, new edition will apparently have charts for everything to have simple learning and stuff.

Hey guys,
I have been playing a lot of infinity out here. all size games and even a few tournaments and campaigns. There is a solid group of about 10 guys, and we even have the number 6 ITS guy in the world.
Here is what I would recommend. Start at 150 points and play the annihilation scenarios from ITS 2014. Then once everyone is happy go to 200. An so on and so on.
As for a night to play. I would just set up a table off to the side and play it from different angles. That way only one table is being set up and it can be used by whoever and they are not playing WM/H.
Those are my thoughts. Have fun with it. It is a very cool and super fun game.

I'm interesting in learning Infinity. Don't do any other wargaming though so a lil' nervous, haha.
I'm usually busy Tuesday/Sunday evenings but could make any other ones.

Honestly, it's perfectly fine if you don't know any other wargames. The only issue with Infinity right now is that it's a bit hard to digest the rules without anyone who actually knows them present. That said, new edition soon and that'll make it a lot easier to pick up.
Were there any factions you were looking at in particular?

Not really, just know it'd be one of the human ones.

That's fair enough. They all have some neat fluff to them, and most can do similiar play styles to the other. They all have their own quirks and specializations, however. If you have any questions feel free to ask me.
