- YT-2400 (Outrider, PS5 Leebo, determination, Jan Ors, mangler cannon) = 46
- YT-1300 (Falcon, PS5 Chewbacca, push the limit, Kyle Katarn, Lando Calrissian, anti-pursuit lasers) = 54
Obviously, the list's theme is for Chewie to tank as much damage as possible for Leebo. Due to their crews, they're supposed to fly together in close proximity. Obstacles are to be set up in as many corners as possible, 3 range bands from the edges, maximizing the amount of corner space for maneuvering. The ships basically circle the table as much as possible with Leebo leading and Chewie trailing. The idea is to force the opponent to pursue, rather than joust or melee.
To achieve the situation where the opponent is chasing, it's important to start turning away prior to contact. K-turns during the first or second round immediately accomplish this. It's also important to stress Chewie before first contact. You want the enemy shooting at Chewie because of the number of evade tokens he can get. This is maximized by keeping him stressed.
Basically, for first contact, you want Chewie to shed his stress, gaining a focus token via Kyle Katarn. This focus is turned into an evade token by Jan Ors. Chewie's action is to activate Lando Calrissian, thereby potentially gaining focus or evade tokens. Chewie then PtL's for a focus, lock, or evade action, whatever happens to be most appropriate.
That's pretty much it. Rinse & repeat. Despite featuring only two shooters, the theme is to outlast your opponent, being so inherently crit-resistant and, due to the possibility of numerous evade tokens on Chewie, surprisingly resistant to taking damage at all.
Certain list types definitely match up well against this list, though. More than anything, being blocked will drastically reduce the list's ability to resist damage. Needless to say, many swarm lists or mixed lists featuring good offence are dangerous as well. What Steel Wool excels against are other elite lists.
EDITED: Replaced Leebo's HLC with a mangler cannon, which is still solid, and gave Leebo determination, which is what I wanted to in the first place. Also gave Chewie (the trailing ship) anti-pursuit lasers to complicate enemy pursuits.
