This thread is used for the fluff of the campaign, and the missions each week will be posted here as well.
Weekly results will be posted here, with the continuation of the campaign story as it unfolds. I apologize in advance if I have murdered any baby fluff bunnies. Just PM me a correction if I'm totally 100% off base here on the lore, which I'm obviously taking from an established source for at least the introduction
------------------------------
The Sabbat worlds:
The Sabbat Worlds is the name given to a group of star systems along the rimward edge of the Segmentum Pacificus. Made up of over 100 star systems, the region is subdivided into several discrete territories, most notably the Newfound Trailing Group, the Khan Group, the Cabal Systems, the Carcaradon Cluster, and the Erinyes Group. It is rumored that the Blood Pact originally came from a system here. First annexed for Imperial colonization in M35, the name Sabbat refers to the area's original redeemer, Saint Sabbat. By M37 humanity was well established throughout the region, with an estimated population of roughly five trillion and a thriving local infrastructure. However, due to its exposure to the eternal threat of the outer dark along the rim, it was ever disputed. Throughout M38 the region suffered a series of brutal wars and conflicts with the barbaric Archenemy tribes of the Sanguinary Worlds, located further rimwards of the spinward extent of the Sabbat Worlds, and became known as a "troublesome province" to the Administratum. Things became vastly worse for the human population during M41, however. A charismatic, brutal Archon rallied the tribes of the Sanguinary Worlds to war, and a series of assaults began trailward into the region. The assault was thought at first to be a return to the conflict of M38, but in the years following 600.M41, it became impossible to ignore the true threat. The ruinous powers had decided to take the whole region. The Imperium never intended to abandon the Sabbat Worlds, but the attacking force was underestimated from the beginning, and the defenders stood little chance. Some held out for as long as a century, but by 740.M41, the Sabbat Worlds were in the hands of Chaos, and the area was reclassified "unstable/hazardous", and the next year, the Civitas Imperialis was officially suspended, and the sector Governor forced to remove himself from Khan Nobilis to the neighbouring sector. Since this time, a Crusade has been launched to free the Sabbat Worlds from the hands of the Archon, and to reclaim this area for the Golden Throne. Frightening losses have been suffered, and the threat of the Archon's forces has proved to be a true danger to the Imperium of Man, but there is no reason to doubt that the forces of the Sabbat Worlds Crusade will succeed.
----------------------------
For our Imperium Players:
Your forces have been tasked with the reclaimation of the Sabbat Worlds. We will send reinforcements as we can. Your mission is to reclaim this area for the imperium.
-----------------------------
For our Chaos Players:
The corpse emperor's minions have been detected in the system, trying to invade our territory. They must be destroyed at all costs!
-----------------------------
For our non-Tyranid, non Ork Xenos players:
Our scans have detected precious artifacts in the region. Although entering this region is perilous given the impending conflict, it is worth the risk to retrieve them.
------------------------------
For our Ork Players:
WAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
------------------------
For our Tyranid Players:
NOM NOM NOM
----------------------------------------
consider yourselves motivated

"It seems the High Lords of Terra approve of the work we've done together. We've been given our Crusade...The Sabbat Worlds!" — Warmaster Slaydo, after the Khulen Campaign
WEEK ONE - INCURSION ON HAGIA
Hagia is an Imperial Agri-World located in the Sabbat Worlds Sector of the Segmentum Pacificus that was the birthplace of Saint Sabbat and now serves as the burial place for her remains, thus transforming Hagia into an important Shrine World of the Ecclesiarchy as well. The capital city of the world is the Holy Doctrinopolis.
The Agri world of Hagia has been an important landing site as a base of operations due to it’s strategic location as an entry way into the system. Your initial scout forces have landed near the town of Bhavnager. You are not alone here however, as it seems others have had similar plans for the region.

Our initial assault on Hagia was successful in securing a base of operations. As we launched our assaults against the chaos legions, unexpectedly on all fronts Xenos armies of various alien races began to attack both sides!
Our initial victories were hampered by these foul Xenos and now it’s time to strike back!
Xenos forces have been spotted blockading the Tembarong Road on Hagia following a strike on the region to raid supplies. This road is a necessary supply route to the capital. The Xenos forces have taken over the town of Shamiam. They must be eradicated from the planet!

Chaos forces have pushed the offensive on Hagia. They have taken to calling themselves “Infardi” to mock the people of this world, as it is the citizens’ local word for “Pilgrim”. Colonel Commissar Ibram Gaunt and his regiment the Tanith First and Only fought the Infardi in the capital city of Hagia the Holy Doctirnopolis and drove them out but at a very heavy cost. To redeem himself and his regiment, Gaunt led an honour guard to the Shrinehold of Saint Sabbat to safeguard the relics there from the incoming chaos fleet. Your goal in this mission is to obtain one of these holy relics at all cost.

Chaos and Xenos forces have beset the Imperium at all sides, driving loyalist forces further and further back.
At the mounting losses of resources and manpower, Warmaster Slaydo ordered a redoubling of efforts to halt the advance.
Chaos forces had nearly re-took the world of Sverren, and General Bulledin is marshalling the Imperium’s forces to drive the chaos armies off of the planet.
Meanwhile on Cociaminus, Xenos forces have taken the planet and must be eradicated.

The Imperium were unable to rally from the failed incursion on Cociaminus, where logistical problems resulted in a significant portion of the Imperial forces unable to commit.
The Imperium found itself beset on one side by implacable Necron forces, and caught on the other by a great orc Waagh!
Chaos forces, attempting to engage the Imperium, were likewise caught unprepared for what was waiting for them on Cociaminus, despite opening up chaos warp gates to bring in hordes of daemons.
In a bid to free the system, the Imperial forces make one last desperate play, fully committing all forces to the cleansing of Cociaminus from Chaos and Xenos alike.

WEEK SIX - IRON MAN TOURNEY AT KINGSTON GAMING NEXUS!
The 2015 40K IRON MAN
July 4, 2015 at Kingston Gaming Nexus Doors open at 9 AM - dice roll PROMPTLY at 9:30 AM (we have a lot of games to get through so we're going to be on time for this!)
This is going to work a little differently than many tournaments you've been to. At the end of this tourney there should actually be only one player left with any models whatsoever. That's right, when you are out of models, you are done. Well you are still encouraged to cheer on your favourite combatant, and you're still eligible for all our great prizes, but your dice rolling time is done when you have nothing left on the board.
BECAUSE....
When a model dies, it is dead. No longer in your army list. kaput. gone. As well any wounds that a character suffers or a multiwound unit. Any Hull Points lost, weapon destroyed results immobilized results etc. carry forward as well. As each game goes on you will have less and less models until all but one of you lucky Tony Starks' are left standing. You will be crowned as the 2015 40K Iron Man, and you will receive your grand prize of a fully functioning Iron Man suit of armor *
When you report your scores, it's super simple. We don't care if you won or lost. We don't care about those objective thingies. First blood? who cares! Slay the Warlord? Well I should hope you're doing that anyways! You will be given a certain amount of time (reduces each round) to kill your opponent's army. That's it. When dice are down they're down. Not one single roll gets made. It's over, total up what you have left and go report.
All you need to do when you go up to our very helpful Grand Supreme Ruler of Tournament Scoring ** is tell her "I have ______ points left in my army" (the blank is where you say how many points you have left funny guy). That's it. Your next round matchup is against someone with the same/similar point level left in their army. That's it. You play til you have nothing left or you run out of time in the round.
Each round it's simple - Dawn of War deployment, roll to seize as normal. fight til time is called.
And each round gets shorter as we go
Schedule:
9 AM - doors open 9:30 AM dice roll
Game length will shorten as we go... and no, it actually isn't decided how long game one is

Hmm, my 500 point list came together much better than I thought. Gotta love having a 50 point unit of Cultists to eat one of your Troop slots - really helps when running Black Legion and having to put Veterans on everything at a low point level.

So Sunday is the deadline to post your results, everything will be tabulated Monday and next scenario posted by Wednesday.
Remember to post all of your results in the results thread - not at nexus, they're not tracking this. They'll handle all the results at the tourney.
Also do NOT screw over your faction by fighting someone else from your faction if there is any other option. Think about it, you are ensuring that your faction suffers a loss and can only get one win instead of two... you do that twice and you're almost guaranteeing that your faction is getting a lower score for the round!!!!
You can only play two games towards the campaign - it's supposed to be a campaign so don't mirror match it k? (unfortunately one of my games had to be against xenos today, but it was because when I was there for games at Nexus there were six of us with xenos armies today!!!) but if you have another option - take it!
