I'm just curious now with the DE codex finally out and such a nice bunch of new models, who plans to start a DE army? And what do you think (first impressions of course since its only been out a few days) of the DE codex?

I don't plan to start a Dark Eldar army, but rather continue playing with a wonderful new book As my other post says, I have yet to read the book in it's entirety, but once I do I will post my opinion on it. Initial thoughts are that it will be a smaller sized army compared to what I used to run since most things are more expensive points-wise.

I will definitely be putting a DE army together, though it will be based on the models and will not be competitive.

Im building a new Dark Eldar army. Im building what feels good to look at...for me that is a sea of raiders (I love the idea of a pirate fleet looking army)
Anyway I have played 2 games thus far at 1500 points. One as a team with Mech Guard against foot guard and chaos marines. and another against my footbound wolves.
I learned a few things. Everything is extremely vulnerable, but at the same time if you are willing to spend some points and take risks survivability increases greatly. As well. Poison is awesome. Thirdly, they are very fast.
Still looking to see whats out there but at 1500 points Im throwing around alot of bodies and a lot of raiders for that point level.
PS I5 S4 Power Weapons with 2 attacks base eat squads of marines.

I have no intention of attempting Dark Eldar. So you'll be safe from me joining the ranks. I admit the models are nice and they are long overdue for an update, but I'm still quite content with my three current armies ;D
Good luck to those starting out! And congratulations to those continuing with their previous forces.

Yeah, I've got no intentions of ever running DE, although I may someday pick up a model or two from the range for the display case.

So I've finished reading the codex. At this point I have to say I'm satisfied with that they have done with them. I really enjoyed to flushed out history and I'm really liking the changes they've made to the overall army.
Now to begin the list building process all over again. My intent is to try and build my old list to the best of my ability to see if if still works (doubtful, but figured it's a good place to start)
Hopefully the Boss will allow me a night (or 2) a week to start playing again and hopefully a certain long time opponent will have his basement free for us to rekindle the old rivalry. This way I can start trying out a bunch of different builds so I can get a better idea how all the new stuff works and what works well together
