I think this is too terribly written (even for GW standards) to be real. Also, it affects models according to this, not units

Although if it was real since it's models and not units it would be really cool to watch the bubble wrapping of MCS that would happen with gaunts. I'm envisioning a carnifex (they're synapse right) with a semi circle of hormies around its front, and them all moving forward together. But it would also make the hurries very very susceptible to blasts and templates, incinerators would do brutal things to them (hello no saves or fnp), but a 6+ fnp on a unit of 30 would make a lot of difference in a lot of situations. It also would mean you don't need the venom tropez baby sitting EVERY gaunt unit.

and to be fair, a model with fearless does convey fearless to the squad, so "models" would only matter when it comes to the 6+ FNP I totally wish carnifex were synapse...

This is why I can't beat tyranids. They all look and sound the same! It's just a bunch of big bugs but I have no idea what they all do

I'd actually love that, except it only works as long as your opponent follows the kits

From BOLS:
"The Tyranids release window begins in January 2016
This will be a Tau-style release with the following
New codex
3+ new units
Several older resin models will be consolidated into a multi-unit build plastic kit
1 new plastic Gargantuan Creature
The Tyranid release window will include a Kauyon-style campaign book that details the Hive fleet’s struggle against their opponent.
The campaign foe is Astra Militarum
Astra Militarum will be the followup 40K release window."

Hopefully Tau style release doesn't mean only minor changes to the nid dex. That would be a disaster. We have had two crappy dexes and I hope the 7th ed one is not the third in the crap pile (3 strikes you're out).
Nids need some serious attention to correct the many imbalances with units/biomorphs/stats. And 3+ new units is unnecessary. Tyranids have had many, many new units since the 5th ed dex. Nids need to have the army philosophy sorted out with clear roles for units and the biomorphs. For example, why don't raveners have access to toxin sacs and adrenal glands? These are for CC type units. Hive guard have access to toxin sacs and adrenal glands and they are not something you want to get into CC. The dex has many messed up things like this.
