It is an interesting trend, but to his question at the end of the article, I almost feel like vehicles are too vulnerable now. It’s not just assault that’s bad for them, being a tank driver is the most dangerous job on a 40k battlefield; more like a punishment really.
Poor Space Marine Rhino drivers, they must have screwed the pooch ROYALLY to get that posting.
In all seriousness though I think the current vehicle rules work pretty well. MC’s & GMC’s are to 7th as Tanks were to 4th; just a bit too tough to get rid of; and a unit type that’s needing some TLC from the rule department and/or a transfer of certain units to vehicles instead of MC/GMC.

I'd say FMC's and GMC's fit that description as hard to get rid of... regular MC's unfortunately are laughably easy to kill in this era of grav, plasma and D weaponry. There's a reason the nid codex is nicknamed "codex flyrant"... it's the only MC's that can survive!

The other disparity between the vehicles and the MC class is positioning. With vehicles you have to think ahead and do a lot of positioning to make sure their weakest armor isn't exposed to fire power, while keeping their guns facing the enemy. The MC's just move around shoot 360 and are always as weak/strong from any side so there is less to worry about. However the AV 13-14 range on the vehicles does make up for this since it really limits what can even hurt the thing.
