Okay, so I've checked the BRB and the FAQ.
In the FAQ they say that damage caused by a miscast doesn't count as a spell and no where in the BRB does it say if the damage caused counts as a magical attack (at least not that I could find).
So my question, of course, is "Does the damage caused by a miscast count as a magical attack or is it just regular damage?

Good to know....reason I asked is that Malekith's armour gives him a 2+ ward vs non-magic attacks, so since the hits aren't magical attacks, he'd get his 2+ ward save which means he can potentially avoid any miscast wounds he might take.

Ahh..missed that part....okay that really does make Malekith one of the most useless & overpriced super Lords in the game. Unless he gets lucky and blows up any other hero/lord's magic weapon first, or makes it through a game without miscasting he's going to die pretty quick every time. But I'll still take him because I actually have a model for him on foot
