Tau are going to laugh at the raptor talon… There’s nothing to stop the tau from firing overwatch. Speaking from experience; I know how tough single wound models are, even with an invul save. You are right about it Lukas, there are far worse combo’s out there in regards to Tau and I had forgotten that once one dies you lose those bonuses, the uptick to the stealth cadre is thankfully short ranged weaponry on the majority of the stealthy suits. Yah, a couple lucky riptides with interceptor will take a big fat fart on half of a raptor wing, and the ones who get in combat with something will probably finish the combat in one turn and then get shot to shreds. I've been surprised at how squishy broadsides are now. 2 wounds at T4 makes them super susceptible to lascannons and melta. Back in the good 'ol days they had T5 and S10 TL railguns, with an option to make them Slow and Purposeful. Now I often end up going to ground and then snap firing the next turn to keep the tank/monster hunter bonus, and the +1 to BS comes into effect before the snapfire modifier, so they don't benefit. Broadsides are still good stuff though, but I now prefer them in a retaliation cadre, giving them deepstrike and relentless.

I actually don't find Tau that bad at all... I mean don't get me wrong, they're in the top five in my opinion, but the top two are solidly Eldar and Space Marines (depending who you ask determines who's 1 and who's 2). Tau have some severe hard counters (see necron vs. tau battle report recently posted... seriously go see that! lol) Tau struggle with properly built Eldar, Space Marines, Necrons, Daemons, and flyers unless they specifically tool for them. Assault armies that can reliably hit turn two also make quite a mess of them. Given their reliance on shooting solely, I'm actually super surprised they're not BS4 already just across the board. That's what I would have done to be honest. Tau is a tough fight. But I don't think they're overpowered. Yes, apparently broadsides are totally useless against destroyers/ wraiths! Something like 6 total wounds over 4 turns of shooting with a fully kitted out missileside squad, with 6 missile drones and buffmander!

yes, part of the problem with the spray+pray units like broadsides is anything with the double save (reanimation or FNP for example) a 2+/3+ armor and T4 or better just doesn't care. Tom's assault centurions with priest unit would be even worse for them to handle! (at least the destroyers can't fight you in close combat with any AP)
I find the stormsurge and the riptide variants to be the real danger. except when I'm playing foot daemons... then broadsides are the devil!

Interceptor won't work as good vs raptor talon as warp talons cause blind tests when they come in. And tau don't have good int. So ws and bs 1. That doesn't help vs the overwatch that Matt talked about. But better to taking overwatch at bs 1 then taking shots at full bs ignoring cover and buffs to their bs.
