In Halifax for vacation visiting my dad. Just had a chat with the GW owner here and he said GW Kingston is in the works.

Don't care, still shopping at Nexus. Awesome location, great community, lots of space to play, tonnes of product variety, and Mike is the shit.

Oh definitely, I will still make pretty much all my purchases with Mike. I'm I huge believer in supporting local business. Plus like you said Mike is the shit. It will just be nice to have a store in town for Internet orders or any odd products that Mike can't get.

Mike can order you ANYTHING from GW just go in and talk to him, plus he doesn't charge you until the product shows up. You don't need GW for direct orders

Do GW stores offer a conduit for some FW stuff?

As far as I'm aware they do not order Forgeworld to store.

Do GW stores offer a conduit for some FW stuff? nope you can't order forgeworld through them. I was recently at the one in Montreal. One small table for games and shelves of just new product being promoted. When my seven year old grandson says "wow Nexus is way better" it speaks volumes. GW should probably save their cash if their intent is to open a store here. Nexus has the loyal customer base, the selection of models from all different systems, a massive playing area and ongoing generous support of the local tourneys... there's zero incentive to actually buy from a local GW.

Ya I didn't know Mike can just order anything (still somewhat new to the hobby). I would much rather spend my money at Nexus.

We all want to keep Mike in business, and we also know GW product is a big market for him. Don't let them snuff him out.

GW prodded me about opening a flag store in Kingston back when I worked with them. My advice was simply "Don't bother."
If one does open in a location like the Cat centre, I see best case scenario for them being a conduit for new players down to Nexus, at worse, simply going out of business quickly because they sure won't draw in any of the established crowd.
