I'm so glad the Imperium is looking towards renewable resources...

I also read that they fit in nicely with the Promethium pipe scenery which makes them a great addition if you already have them (which I do and I love GW terrain )

Even if the rules sick complete ass these things are going to be amazing as dress-up pieces for ad mech armies.
Imagine using them as a reactor core hung from one side of a knight that's got the melee and raneed options fused into the other arm...
To quote deadpool, "I'm touching myself tonight."

Rules! pro.bols.netdna-cdn.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/11/haemothroope.jpgPros: Plasma Weapons become a “Blast” size larger than they were before. (Check page 177 in the BRB to learn which weapons count) Plasma Guns and Pistols gain up to “Blast” and Plasma Cannons gain “Large Blast” which is kind of scary. Rapid Firing Blast Templates here we come! Two Reactors (or 1 set of the fortifications) allows you to re-roll the dice when attempting to restore shields to a Void Shield Generator Two Reactors (or 1 set of the fortifications) boosts the shots from the Plasma Obliterator up to 8 Only 40 points T6 with 6 wounds and a +4 save Grants cover to non-vehicle and non-monstrous creature models Cons: Might cause a “power leak” attack when using the cover save Auto hit in close combat When destroyed causes the “power leak” attack to trigger on the nearest unit Get’s Hot rolls on a 1 or 2.

After giving the rules a look over it appears that they’ll never see the table, ever… as you have to be within 2” of them to work and to gain any other benefit from them (aka bolstering void shields) you have to have 2 CAD’s as you can only take 1 fortification per CAD and thse are a different fortification, not an upgrade… so yeah. Not really very useful, unless you want to give your opponent a big blob of people to shoot at then force a possible second save from additional hits from the thing they’re all bunched around trying to make shooting worthwhile…

It's probably going to be included as part of a fortification network in the Planetary Onslaught supplement coming out this weekend.
I'll probably be picking them up. I have some ideas ways to use them that I would like to try out.

It'd likely be rough to get youself in to range, but if you could combine these with a War Convocation somehow it'd be pretty damn nasty - 3-shot plasma weapons that ignore Gets Hot.
Or, (and you'd probably kill yourself pretty quickly), you could shoot a stupid amount of Large plasma blasts with a Plasma Russ....

It’s one of those extremely situational pieces of terrain that only appear to work well with a single army.

4-man devastator squad with prescience and plasma cannons. Or a 2man squad shooting out the top hatch of a Rhino.
Plasma Obliterator with The Hunt warlord trait and reactors... str 8 AP 2 apoc blast that ignores cover.

As soon as you ignore cover it's a 5" blast (unless it's a saturday game). It's also a T6 model with a 4+ save and only 6 wounds... All you'd need to do is fire on one with an autocannon squad and the plan you had for the plasma obliterator becomes null. Prescience doesn’t allow you to re-roll the gets hot result does it? (It may, I don't use it hardly ever.) I thought it just twin-linked the weapons, allowing you to re-roll the scatter die.
Will it allow you to shoot the everloving hell out of some plasma? It sure will. Is it really fairly situational and “meh”, you betcha.

"If a model has the ability to re-roll its To Hit (including because of BS6+ or the Twin-Linked special rule), a wound is only suffered if the To Hit re-roll is also a 1; it way also re-roll Gets Hot results of 1 for weapons that do not roll To Hit"

Now I ask this without a rulebook nearby, but what does Plasma Weapon as defined by the rulebook entail? Could Tau Plasma or Starcannons get this bonus? Or is it really restricted to Human tech?
