Pending GGW clarification, that seems like a reasonable way to play it. Not as powerful, but reasonable.

Unless I'm reading it wrong, the FAQ that came out at the start of this week states that you "select, role, deploy, repeat".

To the best of my knowledge that's how it was ruled by them. Not the fastest way, but probably the most reasonable in terms of gameplay. It could get pretty brutal if you knew just which unit was doing what before putting any on the table.

Yes, that was ruled in the FAQ.
You select a unit, roll on the table, deploy the unit, move onto the next one.
