10:00 am, March 12, 2011 — 7:00 pm, March 12, 2011 at Quarterstaff Games, 152 Church Street, Burlington, Vermont, 05401.
Legion is a new league for miniature gamers based around Eastern Lake Ontario. The purpose is to get out and play against some new competition. There will be a tournament every three months, rotating both the host of the event and the type of game played. Over the course of the year, each of our four partners will host an event, and the games will be Warhammer 40K, Warhammer Fantasy, Hordes/Warmachine, and Other (including Firestorm Armada, Flames of War, etc).
Stores participating:
Quarterstaff Games (152 Church Street, Burlington, Vermont)
Nexus (270 Bagot Street, Kingston, Ontario)
Le Portail du Jeu (20 boulevard Georges-Gagné, Delson, Quebec)
La Forge des Jeux (2040 rue Lapierre, Lasalle, Quebec)
Maximum Number of Participants:
Four players from each store. From the Nexus we will be sending our Best General, Best Overall, Best Sportsman, and a Wild Card.
Prizes:
The store who hosts is in charge of the prizes.
Details:
1500 points. Army Lists including are due for verification [to be handed in to the Tournament Organizer] by 3:00pm Friday March 5th. 5th edition Codex Lists, 4th edition acceptable if no 5th edition Codex exists for your army. In addition to your legal army list, the following are the “must-have” items that each player must bring in order to participate:
Your Army’s Codex
Tape Measure
Dice
Scatter Die
Flame Template
Small and Large Blast Markers
The last three on the list are required if you are using any weapons that have scatter / template / blast rules.
All miniatures must be WYSIWYG in terms of models and weapons, all models need to be correct and their weapons need to be correctly represented. All vehicle upgrades need to be correctly modeled. Extra items with which units are automatically equipped and cannot be unequipped do not need to be modeled (generally holstered pistols and grenades are in this category). If you have questions about any particular model, models that GW hasn’t yet released, or other gray areas then you need to ask the Tournament Organizer prior to the tournament.
Missions:
Seize Ground w/ 3 Objectives – Pitched Battle
Capture and Control – Spearhead
Annihilation – Dawn of War
Assassination – Nominate one HQ Independent Character model as the General (Imperial Guard may nominate either an IC or a Company Command squad), game ends upon complete turn end following first General’s death (if a General dies in the top of turn 3 then play continues until bottom of turn 3, possible tie for death of both Generals [or neither]) – Pitched Battle, HQ cannot be in Reserve except for Chaos Daemons which have no choice due to their specific deployment rules
