I posted this on the Kingston subreddit the other day, and figured it wouldn't hurt to post here. I just copy pasted it, except for a little bit at the end.
Ok, so I just found this miniatures wargame called Kings of War. It looks really interesting, as it's basically based off of Warhammer Fantasy Battles, and it's also very well priced. Much cheaper than GW minis. Here is a link in case you aren't aware of what I'm talking about:
www.manticgames.com/mantic-shop/kings-of-war.html
I'd be interested In playing this, but I don't know if anyone in the Kingston wargaming community plays it. So I figured I'd ask here. If anyone does play it, where do you play it? The Nexus, or in local homes? Would you be welcome to me joining in?
The not copy pasted part:
From what I can tell, the game is basically a streamlined Warhammer Fantasy Battle. It uses regiments and square bases, and is compatible with Warhammer fantasy minis. There are free rules for the game as well as many of the armies on the site linked above. Most of the armies even has a WHFB equivalent, and they even released a book of unit stats for armies they don't have a line of minis for yet, for if you want to use your WHFB minis, but they don't have a lien of it yet. For example - ratkin (skaven).
I don't think the nexus carries this stuff though, but I have found this:
www.manticgames.com/i-want-a-store.html
Basically, fill out the store info, and they'll try to contact it and see if there is interest in stocking this stuff.
So, yeah. I'd be interested, and if anyone else in Kingston plays will try to order some stuff.
