We have in years past. but with so many people and different schedules they can fall out or have some people play way more then others.

How about a campaign weekend, multiple teams to conquer a star system/region/hive dome etc, 40k/AOS/Necromunda/X-Wing.

I have a good idea for a Campaign for 40k Universe. Just haven't gotten around to perfect it with 8th E. If interested Ill post details later.

I have a good idea for a Campaign for 40k Universe. Just haven't gotten around to perfect it with 8th E. If interested Ill post details later. Same. I admit I've only seen two overall types of campaigns in 40k. First are the series of battles where based on the gains you make, you get more bonuses (Miniwargaming's Warzone Apothis for example) or a more Necromunda-style where you have smaller numbers of units but they grow in power over time.

There's several different ways of running campaigns.
the easiest and most effective is you basically play for your faction and try and control a star system.
plus then you get a cool map to use...
...hint hint... I like cool maps Chris....

Of course the bonus with the said 'cool' campaign maps is that you then get to spice up the battles based on what's being fought over etc, which can then can have long term effects.
For example say the 'GM' of the campaign sets up a planet so there's a vital promethium processing facility in one region. Imperials or Orks grab the sucker and they get buffs to vehicles (more fuel available); while say if a tyranid player gets their claws on it, they get X number of points worth of gaunts that don't count to their total in every fight (promethium acts as energy-rich biomass) etc etc.

Sorry for the wait. School went longer than planned. So my campaign Idea is something I was part of back in Winnipeg. It's Kind of like a team Campaign. I would like to aim for eight players. But if I can’t get eight then I open to lowering the numbers.
The Idea is this. Two teams of four players fight. Each Week or whenever. Can be done once a week or once a month. or once a season. whenever we can guarantee all eight players can meet.
For the most part teams will be themed if possible. Imperium, Xenos, or Chaos ect. One will be the attacker and one the defender. This can change though depending on how the battle went the previous week/month.
Each player will have a warlord as per the normal rules. But one player will be the General. The General has a few bonuses which help his team throughout the course of the battle.
When the teams meet, on the given day. Each General will be given a Mission pack. It is up to the team to decide what player will do what mission. All missions are different and might be different victory conditions depending on team. Teams decide in private and write down who is on what mission. then they meet up to see who is fighting who.
Each Week points will be tallied. If you are a victor you will get a bonus. IF your the non-victor you will also get a bonus... but your bonus might not be as good as the victors bonus (still working on this)
The plan I am building so far is:
Week / Month 1 : Planetstrike (1850 pts) Week / Month 2 : Cities of Death (1500 pts) Week / Month 3 : Stronghold Assault (2000 pts) Week / Month 4 : Small Apoc or multiplayer game. (2000+pts)
No named characters as your warlord. I like the idea that this warlord is getting a name for themselves. Also, like we have done on other Campaigns. Name your Warlord. You have to keep the same warlord from one game to the next unless he/she died in which case there is a chance 4+ they are down for good or the next little while. I don’t have any maps built (thinking of you Shannon) but I do like the idea. Perhaps I can make one and post it every week so people can see the progress of the Campaign.
I will not be playing but organizing it. If on a given day one team is missing a member I’ll sub in, but cant make any decisions for the team.
If your interested let me know and pm me what army you are going to run. This will help me build a cinematic intro ect. Or tailor the missions appropriate. Ill combine the teams and let everyone know who you will be running with. It will be a first come first serve for side.
