It’s the same with all of the psychic powers. They give you the option of rolling, I think only for the Adepticon/Nova crowd where they’ll be better able to control power builds by saying “powers must be rolled for this event”. That’s my guess at least because otherwise why even have it in there. Dudes are old, they should remember what they can cast/what powers they have.

Doesn't matter. As psykic powers are only one of each per turn. Do all armies will only have three power to cast. Other then smite which is as many times as you have psykers.

my position here for tournies will be that psykers can pick their powers known. I'm an old school D&D players... your wizard knows what in his goddam book!!!! (random power generation slows down the game, is wonky for balance and makes zero sense)

I'm fairly sure the official word on generating powers from the live Q&A was "we had 3 powers on each chart, and there was no reason not to say 'you can roll for them if you want for some reason', but we don't really expect that many people will"
