In my ogre lists I've been doing thus far as survivable multi-wound ogres are, I just don't have the numbers for objectives or the ability to threaten early game due to range issues.
Adding ironjaws is a decent fit, however to get any real presence I have to go over the 400 point allies list (or it just doesn't add enough) which means I'm hurting for battleline as the only thing that can count are basic orruks (not ironjaws), ogors or grots.
So the thoughts on the characters are:
Tyrant for a survivable and killy character who can live even being in midfield warchanter is there to buff the ardboyz weirdnob is there as a better caster than a butcher (+2 to cast near the ardboyz) with better spells
Battleline:
I only own six basic ogors, and I run out of points quick, so thought I'd have two core that frankly isn't doing a lot (but 3 ogres are pretty good backfield objective sitters as they need something dedicated to take them out) The 20 grots are there for missions that need a number of models on an objective (which right now I just lose every time)
Units:
30 ironjaws buffed by a warchanter are 3+/3+ with a crapton of attacks, and 60 wounds to shift. These guys can hold midfield, be super aggressive and are a pain to remove, especially if inspiring presence to not suffer battleshock.
Ironguts are there to remove problem units such as bloodthirsters, durthu, or other big monsters. I'd take a unit of 9 by dropping the giant, but I'd be 30 points over! (even doing a cheaper character than the tyrant it still leaves me 10 over!)
Artillery and Behemoth:
Well the giant is there because I had a really weird 170 points left... with that amount of points I can get 3 of an ogre unit, more terrible grots, etc. or another artillery piece, which I don't own one. I briefly (and I mean briefly) considered fighting through assembling that metal scraplauncher kit I still have unassembled, but thought that level of aggravation was not healthy for someone my age. I might break down and buy a new plastic kit for the launcher though, as it's range and utility against large units (2D6 damage if over 20) is pretty ace. I figure that the giant would likely hit combat in this list because frankly everything else is a bigger threat. But he's first on the chopping block if I think of something better. (all the other choices I've thought of are 180!)
Two ironblasters to reach out and touch hard targets across the board (and one always misses anyways) and to keep the opponent from just sitting in their backfield and ranging me.
