I feel like there is one guy at GW who's job it is to build and dash your hopes! They just google you every now and then and see where you are in the excitement scale, too low they drop a hint, too high they push out some other FW stuff.
Its a hard job but some one has to do it

Well, they're doing a good job of it. But come on, they've hinted at it for YEARS. Now would be a perfect time for it. New tigershark on the way, a continuation of the Red Scorpion's storyline, addition of Mechanicus units from 30k to 40k (to balloon out their sales)
If the next FW update is a hint at 40k Mechanicum stuff, I'd say its all but confirmed.

I have to agree with Lukas here. Combine all of what he said along with that fancy new Hovering Supeheavy tank (painted in Red Scorpions colors) along with (now) Dreadnought Culln; could be the next part of the story.
It’s possible that it hasn’t happened until now because they were waiting for the timeline of 40k to advance (ala 8th ed dropping) to be able to advance their own storyline for Tau and the Scorpions.

It would be nice, I mean it's almost like they will have a chance to sync the release of a FW product full of Tau, Marines and Ad mech with the GW release of Tau or Ad Mech codex.
Seems like there could be a lot of money in something like that...
