If they're indeed superheavies, it seems like the points might be pretty heavily weighted against the crons...lol... not quite a fair fight! (unless the knightlings are about 200 points max) That's actually a valid point. These knights presumably have similar stat-lines to other vehicles ergo T7, 3+ save and over 10 wounds. Ignoring any potential changes from the Cryptek's wargear, the Necrons would have at most S6 AP-1 attacks coming from the Wraiths and S7 AP-4 D2 attacks from warscythe lcyhguard (hyperhpase+shield setup is S5 AP-3). And the scythe lychguard would be slowly plodding across the table relying on the RP rolls and that Cryptek's 5+ invul. And that's a lot of ground to cover when you got two mini-knights and a ranger squad shooting at you.

looks like they're definitely super heavies, placing them firmly in the lead for smallest non-character LoW (I think)

I'm kinda holding out hope for Dark Mechanicus in the box and/or abilities to take the knights as chaos based on the wording around the new Blackstone metal the AdMech found that can "neutralize chaos or amplify it".
I don't need to point out that I'm all-in on the latter.
Those little knights have me wondering how few points they really are. If they're only 200... the Leviathan dread may have just been priced out of relevance.

Ya in general the point cost could really make dreads seem pointless if its anything in the 170-200 pt range if they are really good at shooting or close combat.

from Faeit:
Continuing to dig for information about the upcoming box set release Forgebane, there has been a ton of questions that we are still digging for answers for... like the price of the set being number the top question we are searching for. Close up behind that are about the miniatures..... which I did find something on. It appears that Forgebane will contain full kits for the featured models within.
As it stands now, no one has chimed in on the price point, and sources that I often hear from are all silent. I think the leaks for this box set (and early rumors we had here on this site), really made GW jump and release information early.
Release Date: Now I know you are wondering about the release date....... I have not had a solid lead on it yet, but a very loose source was saying pre-orders March 31st. Please take that with extra salt, as this is from a new source. Interestingly enough, the last page of this months White Dwarf mentions..."Ancient Evils" leading me to believe that the release date is most likely the first or second weekend of April.

Well hopefully this means that we'll be getting more hints and codex teasers in the coming days.

If Blackstone has anti psyker properties and is found in monoliths. Maybe they’re going to add an ability to monoliths to hamper psykers. Much needed.
Also. Reading that makes me want to build and design a new table for next years clubs.

Yeah, GW needs to be REALLY (ref. EXTREMELY) careful with how they point-cost these guys as they're really, really hardcore Dreadnoughts by their stat-lines. Too expensive and you may as well just grab a full size knight, too few and no one will ever run a dread again. Also, kinda jokes to see them calling a 30" Thermal Spear "short-ranged" hahaha.

This makes me even more confused as to how the heck this box-set is supposed to be even remotely balanced play.
I mean unless they only get a single attack in melee, just one Knight can vaporize the Wraith squad (3 damage per hit) if they don't make their saves.
And while Immortals are good, they don't have the damage output or strength to really harm them. Maybe the warscythe lychguard can but that that leaves them without an invul save when fighting two Lords of War.
And the Cryptek with the Canoptek Cloak? He's the only guy with Living Metal in the list.

Wouldn't be the first time they over balanced a box set.
I will always remember the 3rd starter box of Marines vs DE
