And here the Necrons only have around 500 and bit points (assuming what load outs you give to the Lych Guard and Wraiths).  Said as it is to say it, we better hope that the Imperium is putting a lot more points on the board.

Because if you can field two of these knights for under 500/600 points? I'm pretty sure the game will be broken by the people who are willing to lay down the money to spam the things.

the starter sets without the rulebooks tend to be more a "lets start an army" box rather than "here's two equally matched forces to play against each other".

not very many work out to be a truly balanced... at least the ones with the rulebooks tend to be closer (I don't think even dark imperium is evenly pointed though either)

I expect the new knights to be around the 250-300 point range.

Knowing GW I'm bettinv they come in 225. Its a new model and wanna move units.

they’re intending to build a network of new pylons along the length of the Great Rift, then switching them on – basically, like stitching a wound closed, except with a lot more chanting and potentially dooming the universe to annihilation by thirsting gods.

I'm sure nothing can possibly go wrong with this plan.

Or they just manage to awaken the void dragon, which proceeds to tear Mars a new one before doing... something.

Considering that this might be a fully-powered or at least only semi-weakened C'Tan, it'll probably be less 'tear Mars a new one" and more 'tear Mars in half'.
