So Mike and I talked about 'Ard Boyz last night during warmachine night... He said that he'd be willing to do the tourney on the Sunday instead of the Saturday so we can all park for free! (YAY) as it doesn't matter what day to him.... So 'Ard boyz is a 3,000 point tourney with three rounds... the only thing that counts is battle points (win/loss and objectives) no painting... no comp... no sports... just bringing the best list you can and trying to beat face... details are here (including scenarios): www.games-workshop.com/gws/content/article.jsp?catId=&categoryId=400002a§ion=community&aId=3900019aSo the coolest thing about 'Ard Boyz (other than you get to bring those nasty evil lists that you'd never visit upon your worst enemy) is that this is a FREE event! yes, come play for FREE!!!! ;D oh and did I mention that if you win the semifinals (the Nexus event is a preliminary where the top three move on) Games Workshop gives you an ARMY.... yes... an entire ARMY for FREE!!! ....and don't say it couldn't happen to a local boy... cuz our very own Frank is living proof that they give out such a prize (he won a complete Empire army....so I've heard.... I mean I haven't seen it assembled yet - jab...jab... ) So come out for a free day of WHFB fun.... oh... and Ard Boyz will run from 10am to 7pm ;D

Greetings, How many people are going to be there? Courage and Honour We are likely to have 6-10 from our local community but I can't really speak for those from out of town as it depends on their personal preference. I did not notice any prelims in Ottawa so it is possible that a few more players from there or between here and Toronto may decide to come to Kingston as well.

Otttawa has a Hobby Center too....strange. Well, that might mean there could be around twenty or so people. That would be awesome! Courage and Honour

I hope to show up, but not sure if timing will work out for me. There's a LOT of gaming in April, and 'Ard Boyz will lose out for me if it comes down to it.

Shannon, I just spoke to Mike and he said he said that Ard Boyz will run from 10am to 7pm (store will open ~930am). Can you please put this info in your original post and in the Lost Forums.

You bringing out that fabled empire army Frank? Hmmm, that would only require assembling the entire army between now and the 17th. Maybe I can get an extension on my exams and term papers from my profs, I am sure they would understand that there are some priorities in life ;D

Greetings mates,
Hey I have to ask something for the Ardboyz tournament. I saw somewhere else on this forum that this Warhammer club is not using the 8th edition rulebook Warhammer Fantasy Battle terrain rules. Will this be enforced for the Ardboyz tournament as well? I know that the Ardboyz traditionally are fought using all current rules, but I figured that I might as well check to be sure.

Courage and Honour The rules for Ard Boyz will follow the book and the Ard Boyz rules which state that all woods are mysterious and all hills are normal with 5 pieces of terrain per board. Within our club, we generally don't use the terrain rules as they are very time consuming (5 out of 6 have a mystical effect), completely random and don't add any value to the game IMHO. Hope this helps clarify the situation for you.

Also, I did not mean to sound like I was passing judgement upon you guys for doing what you were doing. I would never do that myself, but I can fully understand why. Thanks again! Courage and Honour
