Unfortunately the rules are pretty crappy. Best to play your Renegade Knights as Imperial Knights.
My hope is that eventually we'll see a proper Renegade Knights release, with our own traditions and a full set of relics and stratagems - this is marketed as an "index" after all...

Shannon and I had spoken to each other about that very thing.
"These are from House Taranicus, like Taranis only evil."

The rules are bad in a "take this as an army" way, but are delightful in the "I want a Knightlet in my Word Bearer army" way.

Did anyone else notice how wildly different Traitor Lances are, compared to loyalist Lances?
"If your army is Battle-forged, select one model in each Questor Traitoris Super-heavy Detachment in your army. Each model you selected gains the Character keyword. However, the Command Benefit of each Questor Traitoris Super-heavy Detachment is changed to ‘None’ if it does not contain at least one Questor Traitoris Titanic unit, and it is changed to ‘+6 Command Points’ if it contains at least three Questor Traitoris Titanic units."
So, two big changes:
- You get +6 command points for a super-heavy detachment with at least three "proper" Knights, +3 for such a detachment with at least one "proper" Knight, and still 0 for pure Armigers. Currently, loyalists get 3 command points only if they take 3 Questoris-/Dominus-class, and 0 otherwise.
- This new Lance only cares if your Knights are Titanic - not if they're Questoris/Dominus. That means you can fill out detachments with Forgeworld Knights!
I'm hopeful that they'll errata Imperial Knights to work in the same fashion. These Lance rules are quite a bit better.

The knight FAQ changed the wording on the Lances to be the same for loyalists.

I guess I wasn't paying enough attention - didn't even notice that the Imperial Knights FAQ had gone out.
Good change, at any rate.

Also, the FW knights got a FAQ as well. They've got the new wording and keywords. They line up add they should worth codex knights.

Chaos knights may not be as good as loyalists knights since they don't have the houses or starts. But hey its free rules to use the new knights.
I'm always happy with free rules.
