So this begs the question to me, Is this Forgeworld expanding as a stand-alone or are they just being brought into the GW supply chain?
I've been impressed with how fast some of my special order stuff (From GW) has come in this year (I think one of the things I ordered through Mike arrived in like 3 days?)
(BROUGHT IN FROM THE OTHER THREAD AS IT'S MORE ON-TOPIC HERE)
Speaking as someone who has set up a lot of ecommerce websites, it's generally not very expensive to get a transaction processor that converts from several currencies to your main one, and it's much cheaper for them to do it and let you buy in CAD/US/etc than for you to pay in another currency and pay the bank exchange rate. That said they aren't obligated to pass those savings on to consumers.
When I was purchasing forgeworld parts for my guard army I was paying 5-7% above exchange rate, and my credit card was purposefully chosen with ability to make international purchases in mind. Credit card companies just destroy you on exchange rate purchases.
The US warehouse is a REALLY big deal, because technically anything shipping via or directly out of Memphis would be eligible under NAFTA to not have any duty applied. The current limit for no duty is $20 tho (through supposedly the US wants to raise that to $800, ask Trump for details!)
Anyways, I've derailed into how geo-politics affects the price of our plastic dudesmen a little too much, but this can't be anything but good for our ability to acquire FW items at better prices.

I honestly suspect this is in no small part due to Brexit fears and increasing their ability to reduce trade restricted liabilities for the future. Stockpiling assets in another country is a great way to hedge against future uncertainty within the region where a product is made. While being able to order and have it come from the US warehouse is great, that unfortunately doesn't change any of the duties that are involved in bringing the product from the UK to the US in the first place. GW only produces in the UK.
