I'm so so hoping to see Primaris Wolf Successors in that book. Just to actually see some variant wolfy schemes.

According to the lore some of the Primaris Marines are from the time of the great crusade and can remember their primarch. Does that mean that Bjorn the Fel handed isn`t the oldest living Space Wolf now?

According to the lore some of the Primaris Marines are from the time of the great crusade and can remember their primarch. Does that mean that Bjorn the Fel handed isn`t the oldest living Space Wolf now? Technically, but I believe it specifies the original batch for primaris experimentation were initiates at the time of the Great Crusade - teenagers at best, not fully inducted into their legions, if at all. It's probably the most egregious piece of fluff with the Primaris, as how exactly are these people raised under the Imperial Truth able to reconcile the literal hell hole that is the "modern" Imperium? Especially if we're talking the oft-rebellious and temperamental Space Wolves.

What?? So primaris marines were actually just around the whole time?
And here I was thinking that gw finally didn't use the whole. " well it's ancient but everyone just forgot about it story for adding new models and tech.

Their official line is the project started during the Scouring, wasn't ready for a few millenia, but then due to Guilliman being comatose and the one who initiated the program, there was no one to give the "All right, let's deploy them," order.
So it sort of is the old trope, but also with a new trope which previously didn't exist in 40k where one superhero-esque figure saves the day - Cawl. Having absolutely everything tied to him in terms of tech, and everything political or military tied to Guilliman really shifted the tone for me to something a bit too Marvel for the universe where an individual's actions usually amount to nothing no matter their intentions.
But hey, silver linings and all, I can hope there won't be Primaris Thunderwolves or Primaris Santa Sleigh for the Space Wolves, as despite all my misgivings on the fluff, the primaris models are top notch, and mechanically they work a lot better than the existing marine bloat.

Also in the devastation of baal book when the giant warp rift happened after Cadia, timelines got all screwed up... an entire crusade with Bobby G and Primaris happened between the subjective six months for Dante that happened on Baal... which was confusing to him to say the least when they showed up to help.
in devastation of Baal (which I really recommend reading... even if there was not enough Tyranid focus for my liking) it talked about the primaris being the future for the blood angels - because they don't have the flaw and cannot be subject to the rage.
Dante is hopeful about this... Seth... ummm... not so much....
