none of the rogue trader units individually are terribly impressive, but if you run them all together they are a) cheap, b) all deploy as one drop, c) can use any imperial transport, or d) deploy from deepstrike together for 1cp.
Their different characters all buff each other, but only each other, nicely - the AdMech guy gives a 5++ bubble, the medic can activate twice, the assassin as a cheap melee unit and the voidsmen are ablative wounds with two decent guns, with Vhane to give them all re-roll ones and some okayish counter-assault.
If anything, they work much like I'd expect any Inquisition unit - dependent on the character mechanically to really get their full benefits (she gives 3 bonus CP for her units only if the warlord), using a sweet ride or dropping in, and all provide specialist support to one another.
