Greetings everyone,
I just tried to open up a page on this site and my computer promptly and very nicely told me not to do that. It said that there was malware there, due the people at warseer (curse them) and that their site has been known for doing that. So my computer advised me to go back.
I just thought I would tell people and see if anyone can exterminate that virus/malware junk. Thanks and cheers!

might have been due to one of the ads that scroll along at the top....
Just because we have to have them here, doesn't mean we suggest anyone click on them...
The site is remote hosted... and shouldn't have any viruses...

Oh I see what thread it is (Dany's 40k campaign)....
yeah apparently google is giving a report to anything linked to warseer's site because that site was reported to distribute malware... there is nothing on this site that is a virus... however there are many links to warseer throughout, due to how many useful things can be found on that forum...
If you see this warning (your screen goes red - so hard to miss!) you're likely seeing a thread that has a link on it to warseer... which has been flagged for malware... so if you're nervous about looking at any thread associated with warseer, feel free to avoid such threads...
I go on warseer on a near daily basis and I've never picked up any malware.... but I guess someone reported them for it....
just went to warseer directly... and get the same warning... so yeah, someone has hacked warseer... perhaps avoid that site for a few days til they clear the problem up

also... that was me who modified your thread title... just changed all those exclamation marks to a question mark as to be less alarming for those who see the topic come up.... I'm old... I try to avoid getting scared...

Greetings,
That is interesting. My computer never does that to me either. It seems strange that someone would hack onto warseer. Thanks for the tip about avoiding the site. I try to keep my computer clean, but it is hard with all of the garbage running on the internet these days. Thanks for telling me that you modifyed the title, it was nice of you to do that. Well, have a good day.

If you want to surf the web securely, I would recommend: Firefox web browser from www.mozilla.comThen get an addon called No Script from noscript.net/Set it to default with denying privileges on everything. This will allow you to control what portions of a webpage are active and what aren't. Those advertisements you see at the top of the page? I don't see them. This is very useful as even clean webpages will sometimes have advertisements that distribute malware on their pages since they don't control who creates the adds. When you first start using it, you will have to manually enable each website you want, but after that it's very easy to handle.

Guis, Thanks for the tip on noscript. Not only has it removed the annoying banners but it has sped up my wife's wireless notebook connection. The latter part is the most important since a happy wife makes for a happy life :-)
