Given that I've not played in this annual 'cheese fest' before, what would you all suggest regarding the choice of characters? I suppose it shouldn't really matter, although if one selects a special character it can affect the size or choice of other units. Anyway I'm weighing the benefits vs not so benefical. between the following: Grimgor, SO Great Shaman Lvl4, Gobbo Shaman Lvl2, Orc BB BSB or Orc WB, SO Great Shaman Lvl3, Gobbo Shaman Lvl 2, Gobbo BB BSB thanks

As much as I hate to say it, maximizing Magic seems to be key to 'Ard Boyz. Even the toughest special characters quickly find their way to "non existent" with enough Dwellers or Pit of Shades thrown at them.

The only thing you really need for magic is a level 4 and a dispel scroll. Anything else is really gravy. Two of the scenarios start out 12" away from your opponent and that doesn't leave a lot of time for the magic phase so I think your 1st list with grimgor will work well. It's awefully hard for a wizard to cast with grimgor laying a beating on him!!
