normally with resin I just scrape with a hobby knife... that way you're not making dust particles everywhere.

When I'm going to be filing or sanding resin I typically wet my tools and keep a damp cloth underneath where I'm working. The wet files will gum up a bit more, but they capture the majority of the dust. Also, the damp cloth helps for cleaning the gunk off the wet files as well as catching the extra that falls.
That's really all you'd need to do unless you're going to be really heavily converting something and making a huge mess; in which case I'd suggest doing it outside, or in an area that you have a ventilation fan set up to pull the dust outside. Standard sawing and filing doesn't normally kick that much dust.

First attempt with contrast paint. imgur.com/a/O3vN758Overall good experience. I think it will work well in combination with other paints. Getting an army paint bare minimum is going to be easier now. But you risk quality for quantity. Next. Paint a full squad of Necron Warriors and record time. Paint up more drones.

So this morning I painted up 7 Necron skeletons. Priming took about 10 min. Painting took 35 min. They are not golden daemon standard. But with a little around the base they are table ready. I am happy with the results. imgur.com/a/6DZBgP2I find order is important for what layer of contrast goes on next. And I can see this being useful for large quantities of models. 7 was not long enough to allow the paint to dry before moving on to the first model with another paint.

nice quick results! I'm thinking contrast might be a very good tool for getting units painted up quickly

Thanks for the photos Chris. I plan on using contact paint for board game miniatures, maybe I'll finally get around to painting the hideous backlog I have going.

Don’t know what week it is any more but I have been painting last few months trying out contrast paints and the like. I have found a nice balance between contrast and highlights. I have painted a Rhino, and a Repulser Executioner. Currently working on a war suit. imgur.com/a/Hy5LR0VI am also converting some reavers into Stern Guard . Primaris models are just more enjoyable to paint.
