It's that time again! 2020 might have given us a gift from poppa nurgle, but I think we can think of something better to give one another!

Saturday December 12, 2019
Kingston Gaming Nexus
Registration 9 AM
Dice roll at 9:30 AM
Cost – $15 and you must bring a wrapped gift (approximate value of $10)
This will be a laid back, fun, great for newcomers tourney! – expectation is for people to arrive with more fun lists than ultra competitive – this is our one tourney of the year that is stressed as super friendly. As such Forge World (which newer players would not likely have access to or be familiar with) and Lords of War / Primarchs are not permitted (so anything in the Lord of War / Supreme Commander detachment – ie: not even Guilliman, knights, Magnus, etc.)
It will be 1,000 point lists, four games of an hour and a half each:
9:30 AM – Game one
11:15 AM – Game Two
12:45 – Lunch
1:30 – Game Three
2:45 – Game Four
4:30 – Prizes, including Santa’s table!
There is no painting requirement for this tournament, however if you WANT to be fully painted in preparation for club championships then that is awesome and you may expect a (virtual) crisp high five for your efforts!
T.O. reserves the right to send your list packing if it is clearly not within the bounds of a fun friendly environment. If you are unsure whether or not your list is too rough for this tournament or not, feel free to send a message with your list and I’ll let you know immediately.
The main goal here is a fun tourney where everyone can have fun!
Entry fee is $15 (for our regular prize pool) – plus you need to bring a wrapped gift which would have the approximate value of $10. You can go gaming related (brush, paint, white dwarf, dice etc.) or non-gaming related (Cookies, body-wash, socks, etc.) . Whatever you’d like to receive as a gift or you think someone else would appreciate, because at the end, everyone gets a prize from Santa’s table! (hence why it needs to be WRAPPED)
Please note: Due to Covid 19 restrictions, all precautions will be in place including masks being MANDATORY as well as social distancing in effect. If for some reason you cannot wear a mask, you unfortunately will not be able to sign up for this event. In addition, this tournament will be strictly limited to a maximum of 16 participants.
COVID-19
To be as safe as possible during these unprecedented times, all participants are asked to adhere to the following rules:
All players wishing to use the play area must abide by all public health orders at all times while inside Kingston Nexus.
All players must wear a face covering.
All players must sanitize their hands upon entrance to the play area. We also recommend sanitizing your hands frequently while inside our play area. Hand sanitizer and paper towels will be provided.
All players must attempt to practice physical distancing to the extent that it is possible while in the play area. We recommend always staying on the opposite side of the table from your opponent.
All players wishing to use the play area must register and provide their full name, email address, and phone number. This is done at the request of KFL&A Public Health to assist with contract tracing related to COVID-19.
Capacity is limited so that we can all play our favourite games as safely as possible.
All tables must be reserved in advance; drop-ins are not permitted. There is no cost to reserve a table, but we ask that you limit yourself to 1 table per week, so that others may also enjoy the space.
Players will be assigned a table and a time slot. Please do not enter the play area before your time slot, or approach any table other than the one you are assigned to.
When you are finished with your game(s), please leave the play area as quickly as possible. You may certainly socialize with the other players, but we encourage you to do it outside.
No food is permitted in the play area. If you get hungry, please leave Nexus and eat outside.
No spectators are permitted. Note that you are also considered a spectator if you have a table reserved and your game ends early and you hang around to see how the next table over is doing.
No shared game pieces are permitted. Similarly, while in the play area, you may only touch any game pieces (i.e. dice, cards, figurines) that belong to you. If you are playing a game that might normally involve you touching another player's pieces, we
suggest that you simply instruct them to perform the action on your behalf. Please bring your own dice, cards, measuring tapes, and whatever else you might need for the game you are intending to play. We will not be lending out dice or measuring tapes, and we ask that you do not borrow your opponent's.
