How about a Great Crusade that is actually a Crusade? No named characters, but we take our little force and see what happens through the day? Would have some bookkeeping. It would have some elements of Escalation as well, which could be cool. There could be imbalance by the third round, but maybe that is a feature and not a bug? Or just stick with our current format. Which seems to be working! I like this idea. I’m sure there is a way to make it work. Let me ponder this. You can even tie it into an Ironman format in when units die they roll and a 1 the don’t come back ect. It’s a lot of book keeping. But there might be a way to swing it.

I am loving all of these ideas, I do think however that the easiest way format to run would be an escalation going up or down. Play On Table Top just released a 500pt format for a mini-series they are running that I like. You have to have 2x troop choices, a character, nothing can be more than T9, and no epic heroes. I think this is a really good option space for controlling what is in the 500 pt range and it being fair. they also limited the table to 36x36 inches with 1 home and 3 neutral objectives for 5 total.
what are your thoughts on that? this is there idea to replicate combat patrol but not use combat patrol set armies or rules as they differ so much from the rest of the 10ed rules.

Just an FYI... great crusade will be using our current format for ease of function with a tournament.

Just an FYI... great crusade will be using our current format for ease of function with a tournament. will this most likely be a 1250 or 1500 pt format? I believe we have used both in the past?

I am just getting back into the hobby. Haven't played since 8th. I like the idea of an escalation league. Would help the new players and those starting a new army build things up slowly.

Are there any tournaments in June?

I don't have any planned for June as of yet. There may be an AOS one since 40k is May.
There'll be no tournaments July and August at Nexus.. just too uncomfortable there in the summer for that many bodies.
September will be team tournament.

An AOS 4 Index Launch tourney could be fun. A dozen players won’t make it quite as hot as the fifty or so 40K players we had down there in July.
