oh... melee got hit a bit more it seems...
so models not within 1/2" of enemy in a fight can only fight if they are within 1/2" of an engaged model... so looks like 2 ranks fighting max?
You must reach every unit you charge or your charge fails.
morale tests - if you fail you only lose one model, regardless of how much you fail by. Then you roll for combat attrition. then in the morale phase unit coherency is done.
heroic intervention no longer protects you from the attacks of the opposing unit... heroically intervene cautiously!

vanguard, spearhead and outrider do not give you any free CP if your warlord is part of it... so it costs you 3 CP if you take one... supreme command is literally for putting a primarch in your army now.. not able to get multiple HQ's without paying tax (and CP) sorry GSC and daemons...

Noticed an important change in the image dump.
Almost all deployment types you deploy on the short edge. This is an important change because of the table size changes. With a 44x60 table, and deployed on the short edges it's much harder to outflank or out maneuver you opponent. Like a chessboard controlling the center becomes massively important.
Here's the gist. On a 72x48 and deployed on the long edges, if you control the center you need 24" of range to reach the depth of the board, but 36" to reach the width of the board. When you shrink the table to 44x60 and deploy on the short edges by controlling the center you need just 30 inches of range to cover the depth of the board and only 22 to cover the flanks.
Imo this is going to completely tear up the playbook on battle plans unless weapons ranges are also changing. Classic tactics like a refused flank or denied flank may no longer work. Battles may be a lot more trading trying to take the center, leading to really high casualty ratios.
We thought 8th was bloody. This might be about to get a whole lot messier

. so warriors went up only by one point, but they got a stealth buff on top of that with the reroll 1's for reanimation rolls! What stealth bonus? I missing that.

Comment here stolen shamelessly from reddit
Spicy command point re-roll changes.
About adding more risk which is great: Because at the moment CP re-roll is far too safe and convenient for too many things.
No more re-rolling FNP
No more re-rolling vehicles/characters exploding
No more re-rolling for Robert Girlyman or Celestine to get back up
No more re-rolling stratagem things like Vect because that really boiled my piss.
No more re-rolling just ONE of the dice on charge, now you have to redo the roll
No more re-rolling just ONE of the dice on manifesting / denying, now it's both, fabulous!

Looking at some of the new rules etc, there might be a way for large troop units to get around the horrors of blast weapons.
I'm intending to re-test the classic silver tide + D.Arks and melee support. However those 20 man units are candy to blast weapons (particularly the IG vehicles). So if I see large numbers of anti-infantry blast weapons, I put the warrior blocks into reserves and take the CP hit. First turn I turtle while trying to cripple or kill the blast weapons and only bring in the warriors the turn after.

Ahahahaha! You get a bonus 10 pts per mission if your army is painted "to a battle ready standard"
We might be seeing a lot of 90pt max games played on Saturdays when we get back too it.

Just a little bit of harmless incentive by GW to buy their paints. I mostly use Vallejo and Scale75 these days. I think its more their push to showcase the whole hobby. They've almost never referred to 40k as "a game". They always push the hobby line. Also helps for marketing. Random folks walking into game store might start seeing more painted models, and that looks a lot cooler. Btw, I honestly think this is a good thing, especially for me. I can count on one hand the number of Saturdays I've shown up with a fully painted army, and I've played hundreds of games at nexus. If i start loosing 10 pts per game because I decided to watch TV instead of painting, I'm gonna get a LOT more models painted.

From what I saw, there's no more air wing detachment and you can only have 2 flyers per detachment. My poor night wings and Phoenix bomber might never see the table unless I buy some cheap eldar guys
