Blast is great! "Ok going to use frag grenade," rolls one for number of shots.., "well s...". Though I'm still wondering what they will classify as 'blast' weapons. Because the first two examples are d6 weapons while the third is a d3 from what I can find.
I can't see all d6/d3 weapons being blasts so it will be interesting to see what criteria they use outside of Imperial Guard guns that use high explosive shells etc.

There are a few strats out there, one for guardsmen that allows up to 10 models to throw grenades.. if they are being charged by a swarm of anything. 60 overwatch shots are bound to put some wounds in the group.

You say that, but I have fired an awful lot of Overwatch with a squad of Shoota Boyz (60 shots exploding on 6's, Str4 AP0) and, pbtphtpbtphtpbpthptbpthpbp - Unless you have AP (in 8th) it is almost not worth the trouble of counting and rolling 60d6.

I have a feeling that veterans of 7th and before will not be terribly surprised by the list of blast weapons. Blast and Large Blast used to be USR's.

The terrain rules are pretty interesting. You cant see over a terrain peice that is 5 or more inches

Though if I'm reading this right, it seems that placing units in the proverbial crow's nest to get elevation no longer means anything.
So say you plant a lascannon marine up on top of a skyscraper (like the tallest point in the Nexus Apoc table), if the target is behind obscuring terrain he can't shoot them since his line of sight draws a line going over the terrain piece.

yep. and if you are in the terrain you can be shot. so being on a high spot isn't as good any more.

I was hoping if you held the high ground say more then 6 inches up, your unit would get an extra 6 inches of range against things that were on the ground

I guess we'll have to wait and see the full rule set as opposed to the select bits they're showing off.

SO I read a article a while back suggesting that the starter box will cost about 120 pounds. BACKGROUND There is a chance to win 1 of 10 boxes that have a retail value of 120 pounds. it doesn't say what the item is but it is a promotion for signing up on the Warhammer 40k email. 120 pounds is roughly 240 Canadian if you follow Games Workshop Price conversions. So if your looking to pick up a starter set be prepared to spend that much.

So who wants (more) Primaris? Because I can see this being a situation similar to the Forgebane box where there is a lot of 'I take this half, you take that half and we split the cost'.

So, after Necrons and Space Marines, what do you think will be the next faction to get a big update? Personally, I think Eldar are due, as many of their models are very old.
