I did eventually get it apart mostly unscathed. but I will say that the gel superglue and green stuff bond very very well....
there were too many spots where I couldn't reach my brush around the plumes of fire.

Thanks. Couldn't sleep last night and ended up putting some more paint down. gonna give the wings and lower mouth parts a pale skin tone, towards a pink hue. I'll probably finish that tonight, and then start shading the robes and then about a mile of trim. I'm going to try an oil pin wash like I used for the helbrute to add that extra bit of definition. we'll see if I can get this done by end of the weekend.

so, I'm thinking of going with an orange flame for the support, I quickly blocked in my colors, and touched up the trim quickly to get an idea of what this may look like. I did go with the red cloth strips because I like that color constrast a lot on the armor. and it adds a warm tone in. originally I was picturing going lime green for the fire, but I think it would shift everything too much to the cool spectrum. thoughts? edit: the sword is going to be black-purple to model as the "shadeblade" Relic in case I use it. http://instagram.com/p/CZ5Fn5KFQDC

I had posted this on Instagram and forgot to pop it up here, which is why I made the Instagram account in the first place lol. it's been a couple of nights and the oils are still wet looking so I'm just gonna let her sit (for maybe a few more days) to make sure before I start the osl effect. to switch gears and keep the hobby streak alive and built 5 fenrisian wolves last night, and primed them this morning (it's Monday now and it's perfect spray can priming temp right now), I have 2 others from before that are just primed, so I'll paint these 7 up. http://instagram.com/p/CaLqMiDALUQ

My patience is wearing down lol, getti g antsy but the oils are taking forever to dry.
as a side note and to keep the hobby streak alive I've been working on painting up 7 fenrisian wolves. I'm trying a new approach to fur and its been interesting watching these shift colors as I layer up the drybrush and washes.
also on a side note I've started brainstorming on my next build project which is going to be a wolf priest on bike, starting with asking g myself questions.
like are wolf priests traditionally in black armor like the chaplains? how much of the imperial iconography do I want on the mini, or should I file them off? action pose? etc. been trying to Google lore images but it's proving to be a bit harder than I thought. He is also the "apothecary" for the wolves too so I should probably have that reflected in the final piece as well.
I'll whip up a sketch too to kinda get my minds eye onto a physical medium.
anyways. hopefully I'll have this sorcerer done by next week so I can get him onto the table top!

I took this morning to do the osl on my sorcerer and get him table top ready. I felt bad because I had broke my hobby streak for a couple of days, and decided to get'er done. I'm pretty happy. amd even tho the flame kinda glued a bit off what I was expecting, I works out. http://instagram.com/p/CavCS5rljMw

Gotta get painting. so, started the havocs instead of the beserkers, since they won't be in the codex anyways. trying a bit different approach with these. primed them in leadbelcher, then did a nuln oil wash, and then a dry brush of vellejos satin aluminium to get a quick preshade in before I paint the armor panels with terradon turquoise contrast paint, probably diluted 1:2 with contrast medium. then glaze in the warp lightning constrast at a 1:4 ratio at just the tops of the armor like the rest of the army. anyways i hope to actually get these done sooner than later, as they played nicely in my last game lol and I now see the way. http://instagram.com/p/CehSGt2AAdo

I've kept the hobby streak going, and blocked in all the colors for the havocs. I also did the trim and brass accents on the champion. 4 more miles of trim to go lol. it's like the more the unit the more crazy the trim gets, who knew!! haha. my next stage I once my eyes stop bleeding from finishing all the trim is to do an oil wash. I think this time I'm going to use more pigment with the mineral spirit, and try to be more precise, and only pin wash the panels, and a selected wash on other areas. we'll see how that goes. on a side note, I caved in and got a heresy pattern rhino, so there's a future conversion/kitbash for me. That one will probably happen sooner than later, since it will get a lot of table time. http://instagram.com/p/Ce_K8zYAZ1s
