it's got Beezos rocket money behind it. And they will drop insane amounts of money into a project once they get IP (see Rings of power... wait, don't actually SEE it, but just look at the budget lol)
Cavill is a 40k player since he was a kid and talks all the time about the lore and how much he loves it.
Couldn't be in better hands, in my opinion.
But you know, it's 40k, so even if it was perfect, 1/2 the player base would complain lol

You know rings of power and lord of the rings is a great example of value for money, since adjusted for inflation the trilogy had almost the exact same pricetag as the first season of rings of power lol
Edit: actually they're almost the same length, too
Like any project this size could be great could be terrible. Anybody's guess at this point.

My counter point to Rings of Power is The Expanse.
RoP was narratively hamstrung from day one by only having the annexes of LOTR to work off of....but it was still visually awesome, even if it was narratively out to lunch.
Amazon took over the expanse after S3 and absolutely crushed it making seasons 4 thru 6.
The difference between the two....producers and writing staff who actually cared about the source material

I had forgot about the Expanse. It was on my to watch list but then got pushed back so many times it fell off the list. I think I may have to add it back on to that list now

The Expanse is one of my all time favorite sci-fi shows. Season one enticed me so much while I was deployed that I bought and read the entire book series in the following 4 months |

Ok, I’ll have to continue watching the expanse.
A 40k show will be tough to make, since the imperium is just so crazy terrible and fascist, that it’s hard to make them the good guys. Unless you are just into space marine Bolter porn. I guess someone like an inquisitor who knows how messed up it is but still trying to do good, could work.

Off-topic, but he'd also make a freaking amazing Arthas/Lich King.
On-topic, Fabius Bile would be a really interesting option, as he doesn't travel with a HUGE host of marines, and gets go go out there and explore a bunch of stuff. That said, it'll likely be an inquisitor or some other human so they don't have to perpetually cgi his body into the epic proportions of a Marine and allow him to hang around with other humans.
Side note: It'd be sweet to see some assassins in play.
