OK - registered for BCP and then for Battlescribe. Never used BS before - don't love it and I have zero confidence that I entered what I actually wanted but there it is! I don't think I wanted a Warlord Trait but the system wouldn't let me not take one?
Lets roll!

Have to make sure Arks of Omen is selected under "game type" then it will make the warlord trait optional.

First time with battlescribe this weekend. Found same issue with Tommy's army and Arks of Omen. Had the same challenge but muddled through....showed Tommy how you use it...he thinks he's a genius now...

However only until recently I noticed I was using it wrong. Under the game type in the top of the roster you need to change change it to match play and select arks of omen. This will help with cp and stuff.

Just looking over the player pack. Does any one have WTC style terrain? I have some stuff for 5x5 or 5x7 but I do not have anything for the big 9x9x5 pieces. Thinking I might look at some cheaper foam core stuff from Micheal's to cover it.

There are some cool place online that sell WTC terrain. I don't think it's critical for most of the terrain. Forests, creates and small ruins/building are pretty universal. The only uncommon thing is the 9x9x5 with no windows. For now I'm just gonna make some cheap foam core stuff. I will say that I have started to play player placed terrain rules and saw that was what they were using at LVO and it's real good. I like it a ton and it means that you are never really disappointed in a table loadout and can come up with some cool tactics based on placement.

I tried a player placed terrain game this weekend; I liked it better (my regular opponent liked it LOTS less).
I have some semifancy papercraft terrain. I am disappointed to find it ... largely ill suited.

So, why are are the Large Ruins solid? They're supposed to be breachable? This is ... difficult to visualize from a solid wall ...

So, why are are the Large Ruins solid? They're supposed to be breachable? This is ... difficult to visualize from a solid wall ... they're still breathable you can still go through them. The main gameplay difference is they don't have windows so you can't shoot from inside of them

The solid wall came from a game balance stand point. The way LoS currently works with the obscuring keyword means that, with smart positioning you could hide a flyer or knight when terrain has no windows. It's suppose to help melee armies.
On the flip side you could also hide a whole elite army and it made units that interacted with breachable keyword and units with fly much stronger than bike/cav/vehicles hence infantry/beast/swarms being more common.
It also lead to the changes to indirect fire because top lists were abusing hiding a whole army out of LoSand killing everything like a shooting gallery again.

But is also dumb, because the see-through ones are vastly cooler looking. There are some place that use rules like "windows on the bottom floor are blocked" so they can keep using terrain that looks cool. In general the terrain can look however you want if you agree " big pieces have no windows"
