Well, guess its time to reboot!
Day 1: Annual cleanup of hobby area. Found the tank decals I have been hunting for so then decaled a couple of tanks
This year I intend to focus on using the streak process to clear out my pile of opportunities. I have a couple of Lord of the Rings boxes that have been sitting there, waiting for paint for 20 years or so. Time to deal with those...

Day 2: Assembled 12 Rohan Warriors from 2002. As mostly one-piece models it was simple but lots of mold lines Day 3: Undercoated and basecoated the Warriors then finished one test model; gave 30K Deredeo a glow-up Day 4: Had my first game of Horus Heresy! - came home and painted/decaled up a bunch of chainswords for my veterans Day 5: More touch-ups on my 30K Dark Angels, decals etc// cleaned up base colours on Warriors of Rohan Day 6: AoS League Game! Back to the Warriors of Rohan to add skin, hair, weapons, armour and helmets plus shields Day 7: Four different washes on the Warriors of Rohan Day 8: Bases on Warriors of Rohan - they're done!
A fun week. Working with the old Perry Twins Warriors of Rohan was a treat. I am very happy with them and I will now work on some Moria Orks. It was also rewarding to bring some 30K Dark Angels up a little with extra details.

A week where I abandoned my plan and followed my joy.
Day 9: Assembled Morder Orks - this was fun to build models from Christmas 2003 (I was home from Kabul at the time and hobby time ran out) Day 10: Stripped some old DA Veterans and did a 30K test paint to see how they might look as Deathwing Companions in 30K - I had a business trip that took a day from my hobby but I did pick up a box of DA Veterans to go fresh Day 11: Kit-bashed five Horus Heresy Dark Angel Deathwing Companions from a DA Veterans kit, the SCE Stormdrake Guard kit and the left-over MkIII helmets from my 2019 30K-themed DA project Day 12: Painted the Deathwing Companions in a flurry of painting the night before the tournament. Because it was the night before a tournament and that's what you do Day 13: Woke up at 0630 hrs and got the Calabanite Blades and bases to tabletop standard// Horus Heresy Tournament! Day 14: Went back and highlighted the Deathwing Companions and then fixed up my Cataphractii Terminators. They were looking at little Iron Hands so I made them a little more DA
A fun week. Bashing together the Deathwing Companions was rewarding and shows why clipping all the left-over bits on a sprue and storing them in divided trays is not hoarding. Its being prepared for insipiration!
I think this week I will carry on with my Horus Heresy kick. The Orcs have waited twenty-one years, they can wait another week or so...

A leisurely week!
Day 15: Assembled five 30K Dark Angel tactical Marines Day 16: Assembled five more 30K DA tactical Marines Day 17: Undercoated the DA Tac Squad - severe clog in airbrush resulting in an hour-long detail strip and clean Day 18: Basecoated the DA Tac Squad with the airbrush (Abadon Black); Leadbelcher and Red to armour trim and bolt guns Day 19: Cleanup on the tac squad; washes// picked up my AoS Slaves to Darkness book and I can feel the shift coming... Day 20: Incubi Darkness and Kabalite Green edge highlights - I do this to make give them a slight Green hue so they don't look like Iron Hands or Ravenguard// painted and textured the bases
I have a work trip coming up (surprise on Friday), but my aim is to finish the bases and decal them before assembling the next 30K DA Tactical Squad. Why do I need more Tactical Marines? Because I do.
The 30K kits in MkIII armour are a treat. They are sort-of multi-pose with lots of little options. Felt some nostalgia building them!

Work travel caused some disruption, but still a great hobby week:
Day 21: Agrax Earthshade on the bases of the MkIII Power Armour Squad (did this at 0600 hrs) Day 22: After a grueling drive through a snowstorm back from Ottawa I assembled some MkIII Power Armour dudes Day 23: Assembled more Mk III Power Armour dudes Day 24: Finished off the MkIII Power Armour Marines (10 models total) and started some MkVI Heavy Support - lost a leg... Day 25: Finished MKVI Heavy Support Squad with Lascannons and started MkVI Heavy Support with Volkite Culverins Day 26: Finished the nine MkVI Heavy Support dudes with Volkite Culverins - still can't find the leg that this sprue donated
Focused on assembly this week. My last week of assembly was with a near-empty bottle of Army Paint Plastic Glue where every part was a battle. This week's work was with a fresh bottle of Citadel Plastic Glue. So smooth. So easy.
Frustrated that I lost the leg of the MkVI Marine. I've torn apart my hobby space - no luck...I normally assemble one piece at at time: clip, clean and attach. For this one model I clipped all the pieces and then cleaned etc. Somehow I lost the leg. How?
I have lots of arm sprues, but no leg-halves. So this will be an adventure.
This week is heavy at work, but I'll chip away at undercoating and basecoating. I do like these MkVI kits (the two-part shoulder pads are nothing like the internet ragers said they would be). The MkIII kits also have some nostalgia.

Been on that search myself. Best of luck. I usually find it because of a wonky light angle casting a shadow. And I agree, as usual the ragers got it wrong about the pads. Not a favourite but not horrible.

No sign of missing leg...That would be weird without context.
Day 27: Played an epic AOS League game and then applied decals on the 30K Tactical Squad that was painted last week (brain too fried for anything more taxing) Day 28: More decals on the 30K Tactical Squad - go with the flow Day 29: Airbrush Undercoat on 30K Tactical Squad from last week and half of 30K Heavy Support Squad with Lascannons Day 30: Cleared major interior clog on airbrush and then finished undercoat on Heavy Support dudes Day 31: Airbrush Abaddon Black on Tacticals and three of the Heavy Support - then ran out of Black. Seriously? Day 32: Went to Nexus - no GW Abaddon Black Air, but several Vallejo choices so off I went - finished basecoats! Day 33: Had awesome league game at Nexus and then worked with the kid of work colleague on how to recess shade his Ultramarines. Probably the most useful thing I did all year!
A funky but oddly productive week, but the streak will now end as I head out of town for a while. I think I will also recharge this coming weekend as I will have company and a couple of engagements. This should let me tackle those projects with a new streak the following week!
Really enjoying this 30K kick BTW.

I had a week-long business trip and then had company for the weekend. Then I decided to take a week off from hobby - so two weeks of no productivity. Still got a great game of Age of Sigmar in. Restarted this week.
Day 1: Fixed the Black basecoats on the 30K Tactical Squad and Devastator Squad (had found lots of grey areas underneath) Day 2: Leadbelcher on Tacticals Day 3: Mephiston Red on the bolters/eye lenses Day 4: Fixed up mistakes Day 5: Incubi Darkness edge highlighting (this is a tough step - no immediate reward but its important) Day 6: Kabalite Green highlights (more rewarding, but needs the Incubi Darkness underneath - I think...)- Washses Day 7: Evil Sunz highlights on boltguns and eye lenses, painted Vexillor, painted and shaded bases - job's done!
Taking the break was necessary. Ready to finish the Devastators this week!

Day 8: Leadbelcher on ten HH Heavy Support Marines with Lascannons Day 9: Red and Warpstone Bronze on the Lascannons Day 10: Fixed mistakes - lots from the Leadbelcher that really show on the Black armour - also had an AoS Game! Day 11: Incubi Darkness and Kabalite Green edge highlighting//Painted bases and applied washes - they are done Day 12: Undercoated nine HH Marines with Volkite Culverins - catastrophic airbrush clog that sent paint out the back! Day 13: Fixed airbrush, reapplied the undercoat and basecoat (two blacks), plus Leadbelcher and Red/Warpstone Bronze Day 14: Cleaned mistakes, applied washes - almost done
A good week, even with the airbrush failure! At least there are good videos out there on how to fix problems. I've pretty much done three squads in two weeks with good rhythm. I am off on another work trip, so there will be more disruptions. When I return I will wash and drybrush the bases of the Heavy Support Marines before potentially tackling a Land Raider.

great progress! paint shooting out the back eh? that's not good - glad you were able to fix it! It came out the trigger assembly - which is distressing when you really want the paint to come out the nozzle. Some paint did come out the nozzle, but then my trigger hand and arm were also undercoated black. I think I had a small clog plus a bad re-assembly from last week. Perhaps the trigger was not properly seated? All seems good now...

Another week-long work trip plus returning dead-tired meant I took a couple of days off to recharge. Restarted with a vehicle project!
Day 1: Assembled Land Raider Proteus while watching the Oscars with my family (I can assemble and talk, painting is harder) Day 2: Undercoated and basecoated the Land Raider (airbrush mostly behaved!) Also went to a play. Day 3: Painted in little nooks and crannies. Also went to a book launch for a friend/historian Day 4: Leadbelcher and Warplock Bronze on Land Raider, Mephiston Red, Washes Day 5: Edge Highlight of Incubi Darkness followed by Cabalite Green on Land Raider (tedious but necessary) Day 6: Decals on Land Raider and then a squad of 30K Tacticals that had missed their decals - Land Raider Done!
Then it was the tourney on Saturday (great time) and today I was in Ottawa for a Special Olympics competition so the short by impactful streak ends. Off on another work trip and then? Not sure, maybe those Lord of the Rings Orcs or that paint set with five D&D miniatures that I won as a door prize? Or some surprise I pick on my trip? Who knows?

Ah yes, trips are the bane of hobby productivity. You seem to have gotten back into the swing of things well enough though.

Yet another work trip, so the clock had to reset. Did pick up a Horus Heresy Praetor, though, on my trip!
Day 1: Assembled the Praetor. A relaxing and straight-forward build Day 2: Airbrush undercoated and basecoated - no airbrush problems! Day 3: Airbrushed the cloak (kept it separate)
Busy week coming up with evening activities, but I will keep working on the character. No rush!
As an aside, I've been advising one of my work colleagues about her kids hobby journey into 40K. Her eldest son had expressed interest before Christmas and I offered some advice, along with a warning! Three of the boys have armies now, and they are painting away and playing floor hammer. Oh to be 12 again...Ultramarines, Orks and Tau.

I remember my son and his friends making the same discovery. All 3 are still playing after 15 years. With that thought I think I may go lay down.
