My wife was with me when I bought this one - might have to wait a bit before getting another...

I've been hobbying quite a bit, but I have also taken some breaks due to travel/work/family etc. My painting log shows the following by week:
18 to 25 August - Picked up the Leviathan Starter with Terminators. Assembled the Terminators, Terminator Captain and Infernus Marines. Somehow lost part of the leg of the Assault Cannon guy. Spent the week tearing about my hobby room...Still don't have it! Painted the Terminator Captain and Infernus Marines
26 Aug to 1 Sep - Kit-bashed five Veteran Marines for Horus Heresy. Those old Dark Angels Veterans kits were great sources of bitz that I could use to turn Mk VI Marines into Dark Angels. Also assembled five Flamethrower guys for Horus Heresy
2 to 8 Sep - Painted up the ten Horus Heresy Marines. Nice and easy.
9 to 15 Sep - Cleaned up models for my Teams army - decals on new Dark Angels. The Teams Tourney was in here!
16 to 22 Sep - Assembled a Stormspeeder Thunderstrike
23 Sep to 1 Oct - Painted some Powersword effects on the Veterans, the Terminator Captain and the new Azrael
Losing that Terminator leg really crimped my style. At least I've reorganized my hobby room as a result! What drives me crazy is that it has to be there somewhere...I tried making a replacement from some Stormcast extras - didn't really mesh. I might just go for Greenstuff and cover with some icons?

So October was a great month for gaming (AOS tourney, two 40K league games, two AOS league games and a couple of pickup 40K games), but my hobby was rather lacklustre.
2 to 7 Oct - I did finally craft a lower leg for Terminator with Assault Cannon, covering the Greenstuff with some Deathwing bling to cover up. I then undercoated, basecoated and recess-washed the five Deathwing Terminators. And they then sat there.
8 to 14 Oct - Basecoated the Stormspeeder Thunderstrike
15 to 4 Nov - Stared at the Deathwing Terminators and Stormspeeder Thunderstrike
5 to 6 Nov - Finished the Stormspeeder (including higlights, base and decals)
Feels good to have something done. Will try to be more steady (but my job just got busier...)
I've started "flaming up" my Bloodletter swords, with a trial on the Skulltaker. Fun diversion. I built a Terminator Chaplain this weekend as well, and will be painting him up along with a Phobos Librarian.

Had a great hobby week. Painted the Phobos Librarian over four day sand he even saw the table today. I think he is one of the best modern Space Marine sculpts. Basecoated and undercoated the Terminator Chaplain. Today, restarted the five Terminators with Caliban Green, Khorne Red and Mechanicus Standard Grey details.
On a six day streak!

Kept the streak alive to 13 days! Finished the Deathwing Terminators including decals. Feels good to have them done. I am sure I will find that missing piece now. For a change of pace on two days I assembled Age of Sigmar gold Castigators from waaay back and then a new 40K Techmarine in case I ever want to run Ironstorm. I closed the last three days with painting layers on the Terminator Chaplain. The Relic Shield is tricky - lots of mistakes needing fixing but I am happy with how he is progressing.

Up to 20 days now. Worked on a lava/flaming sword effect on 40 x Bloodletters with an airbrush and three of the Army Painter Base/Mid/High paints. Satisfying!
Painted details on the Terminator Captain, fixing up new mistakes. He's almost done.
Assembled five Tempestos Scions and undercoated them and the Techmarine.

Smashed through another week of hobby including the 40K and AOS tourneys.
Day 21 to 23 were spent painting the five Scions to tabletop standard for the 40K tourney and completing the Chaplain in Terminator Armour. I spent day 24 assembling a Taurox Prime and then Day 25 undercoating, basecoating and recess-washing it. Day 25 to 28 were spent detailing the Taurox Prime after the tourney. Now pivoting to the Techmarine.

Work and life commitments from the holiday season meant that the streak ended, but I got some hobby in.
The Techmarine was finished and he survived his first game, even killing three Ork Bikers in glorious melee. The game was lost, but his performance was nice!
Assembled some Tyranids from the current Elite Box.
I also took stock of what I have painted this year. My production is down from last year, but I have still painted over 4K in points.

Final Streak..
Day 1: Undercoated/basecoated in purple and bone ten Termagants, three Leapers and the Winged Prime guy/ Agrax Earthshade Day 2: Armageddon Dust for the bases, more Agrax Earthshade//Dry brush Terminatus Stone - looks OK! Day 3: Assembled and painted ten more Termagants from the starter and ten more plus a Tryon from my 2009 pile of shame
I'm on leave at home but I've got plenty of work stuff going on. This has fueled my painting itch to the point of opening tackle boxes from 15 years ago to paint stuff.

Day 4 - picked out teeth, eyes and tongues; Armageddon Dust for the bases and wash - Termagants done! Day 5 - undercoat and basecoat on six Tyranid Warriors (from 2009) plus the Psychophage - base on Trygon
I will resist repainting my old Tyranids and just do my old unpainted ones. The scheme of my old ones is similar enough to my new one, I think, to be OK with them on the table together.
The old metal Gargoyles, though, might be a bridge too far. Throne they are awful to work with...Never mind try to have on a tabletop...
Feels good to paint models from the 15 year pile of shame, with the real feat ahead of me of playing them on the tabletop...Hive Fleet old school is coming your way!

Day 6 - weapons on Warriors, wash and bases. Almost done. Re-Based an old Biovore (2nd Ed?) on the new base size. Greenstuff repaired a metal Lictor
Should finish the six Warriors today and undercoat the old metal minis.

Day 7 - finished the Warriors and the Psychophage
Christmas hosting duties will likely interrupt painting, but I would like to get the Biovore and Lictor done along with ten Genestealers

Still one day left in the year, but I figure I would put up a summary. All in all, a rewarding hobby year that blended painting, some technical hobby skills and plenty of gaming.
Totals:
Middle Earth Strategy Game : 320 points (32 models from 2003 - just went with 10 points per model) Age of Sigmar (mostly Khorne): 830 points Horus Heresy: 1,340 points 40K Astra Militarum: 250 points 40K Dark Angels: 1,290 points 40K Tyranids: 1,160 points Grand Total: 5,190
Its not about production, but this is roughly half of my production from last year. To be fair, a big chunk of my production in terms of points in 2022 was Stormcast Eternals. I got a bunch second-hand and painting them as Hammers of Sigmar is my jam. Nine Annihilators was something like 600 points whereas 10 Termagants are 60 points. Still, a metric is a metric.
Favourite Miniature: While The Lion was cool to paint I really enjoyed the new Terminator Captain. Chef's Kiss. The Terminator Captain also saw the table a ton and turned the tide in a few games with his Deathwing Knights.
Favourite Hobby Project: Kit-bashing Horus Heresy Deathwing Companions the night before the January tourney. Praise to Khorne for bits boxes and being a bit of a hobby hoarder...
Favourite Painting Project: Probably the Bloodthirster. He just looked so cool and it wasn't too hard.
Most Surprising Fun Army Project: My Tyranids refresh. This was an impluse as I looked through my old army boxes. It was actually fun to do this and also to then get them on the table today. I know that our models do not actually have feelings, but I have to think that my Genestealers from the 90s Space Hulk were really happy to get their slash-on today.
Least Favourite Project: Losing a leg piece on a Terminator with Assault Cannon that stalled me for a month before I then kit-bashed the leg piece. So a negative turned into a positive!
I am looking to finish a Gladiator Lancer tonight but I will not rush to add points if the conditions are not set.
