Firing up a thread for people to suggest secondaries for the 2500pnt tournament and beyond. Ideally each one is worth up to or around 15 points, as i'd like to be able to use standard 40k scoresheets and i am intending to make the missions work around a 45 point primary.

I gotta say, I'm pretty against adding 40k style scoring to 30k. A big chunk of the reason I really like playing the system is the stripped down missions and focus on the narrative/ story of the game. Admittedly this doesn't work quite as smoothly for a "tournament" style event, but that's why I'd like to start advocating/planning on Event days where we still play three games, but we follow a story or event. More focus on games, not scoring.

I wasn't at the last event but I will say adding secondaries changes how the game works immensely. Adding secondaries can work if they are designed for the system, 40k ones would need lot of reworks and changes how the game would be played and almost turn it into a second 40k game.
We had 2 events and I feel as though we should play the game out of the box for a bit longer before making any drastic changes to the game.

Appreciate the enthusiasm to enhance the fun ! Personally I’d like to just stick to the book. Truth is secondaries and book keeping is the main thing I don’t like about 40k 😬. I vote stick to the HH book ! HH rules !

If in a tournament and you want to avoid ties just do like I do in bolt action, kill points to determine the winner in a tied point, you use your W/L/D and how many units killed, that way if you have 3 players with 3 wins the 1st place goes to the player with the most kills.

This is a good suggestion- i may use this instead. I was mostly seeking a solution to our multiple way ties.

It's what I use in BA, I remember an event years ago, probably the first BA event and a guy from Toronto argued that he'd won, but you'd killed more units so won.

We wouldn't have had ties if the in game score was used as a tie breaker
So score W-D-L first then break any ties with the actual points earned in game...every mission already has criteria on how to score points. (This is the system I used w FOW/TY too)
Sure they may be wildly different numbers...but its not like we're comming out for tight competition. As Lukas said it's about the fun of it.

I would also like to see more narrative content at future events - I'd love to see missions attached to tables/locations rather than everyone playing the same generic mission. I also quite like when missions have associated stakes - two armies fighting over a spaceport, with the winning side getting some sort of nebulous fleet bonus in subsequent rounds, for instance. Traitors won round one at table 6, next game at table 6 the Traitors are automatically considered the defender. Stuff like that.
That's why I got into 30k.

We ran some FOW events like thar back in gagetown If the allies or axis won the majority of games in a round that side would get a bonus in the next round. (Like +1 to reserve roles for securing supply routes, or whatnot) I'm all in on that stuff.

Ppl want a level playing field The HH crowd isn't looking for that...its alot more like how I learned to play 40k 20 years ago...throw stuff on the table and make cool shit happen

That's what it became... not how it started though But I'm happy people want this style of play in 30k!

I think the only reasonable way to resolve ties is a Lore Quiz.
