Hey everyone,
Looking at setting up an AOS tourney for Saturday April 8th at Nexus
Just wondering what people were wanting with respect to format / rules etc.
Did we want to stick with what we did for the league, or would something else be preferable?
I'm pretty much open to anything!

I think sticking with the league style makes the most sense since that's what the community has been using the last few months

Happy with whatever you decide.
Shaking up the League rules a little would be my preference - Would like to use faction battle tactics / strats.
Regardless, my new Slaves to Darkness army will be ready to spread Chaos! Have been making lots of progress.
Looking forward to it.

I'm fine with either approach. For those who didn't attend the league but want to play in the tournament, check out the league thread to read the battlepack!
P.S. I'll be there!

how do we feel about a blend?
The basic league rules but factions battle tactics / Grand Strategies also being allowed?
Gives a big more variety and I think between white dwarf and new books most have them by now right?

I'm happy to play with whatever is decided. I'm so easy going, I don't even mind rolling for priority *gasp*. I've certainly become accustomed to playing with the league rules, so any variation of that works for me.
I do think the difficulty of faction battle tactics is pretty imbalanced across the books (compare orks and stormcast vs daughters and slaves). But, the league battlepack has a bunch of very doable tactics.
In practice, I don't think it would make a whole lot of difference on scoring to allow them. A good number of armies will have access to an easy 5/5 and the game will be settled by the primary and good old-fashioned murder.
Looking forward to it!

Hello,
I loved the league but wouldn't mind having a tournament with priority rolls and some of the new rules.
Whatever happens I am happy to show up and roll dice.
Looking forward to April

Personally I like the priority roll so I'm all for changing up the league rules. I'm hesitant about the faction battle tactics, because like Dave I think there's a pretty big imbalance with some factions.
Either way, I'm excited to attend and roll some dice, but I'll have to see as that happens to be Easter weekend and we might have family plans.

Fired up for a tournament!
Conflicted on rules. I was initially uneasy with the drop of double-turn and home-brew mission tactics, but it generated interest. But the double turn has that element of doubt that keeps us on our toes.
So I'm down with either. To the polls!

The new season GHB seems like it is much more palatable than the last one.
It would be a fairly big shift from the league play - battalion/drops matter (if you want to try to control first turn), potential for double turn (reason for conservative play vs. chance for the double).
Book battle tactics - I think I lean more on the side of "only GHB" ones. I think it levels the playing field, forces the players to play the same game. If everyone gets 5 tactics every game, what's the point of having them?
Those are my thoughts. I think that if we move over to the GHB, it changes the game well play, but if that change pushes away to many players, then I'd rather stick with the league rules.

I put up a poll - you can choose two options because your second choice is for the decision of Priority or No Priority roll. Pick your favourite and we'll go with what will bring in the most people.
If you have a super strong "I won't attend with this option" opinion, feel free to post here so we can discuss.
Want to ensure we're having the tournament all of you want the most!

Yay tournament. I don't have a strong preference on the rules but I would add that if we are not going with the league rules lets make that decision with a couple weeks to spare so we can get some practice games in. I started playing not long before the league started and have only played with alternating turns / league rules.
