Hello! Inspired by all the lovely minis I see here, I've decided to make a painting thread! This year was the first time I tried oil washes... And here are the gutrippaz who served as the test subjects imgur.com/a/yov0GtDAlso made some of my first DIY terrain (classic grassy hills) and used it for pics imgur.com/a/u2CkHNDNow if only I had time to play 😬 Cheers

Welcome to the painting thread world. It all looks good to me. I've been wondering about oil washes but not sure I'm there yet. As to playing, painting is a great filler until you can find the time.

hi, and welcome!
I've used oil washes a few times and I really like them. it's only the clean up, and since I'm paranoid, the pre wash varnish coat lol.
I really like the orcs, in particular the shield 🛡

Well, the next project has begun.
Popped into Nexus tonight and picked up some deathgaurd to make another killteam! First time painting DG.
Question is... Do people ever have interest in seeing WIP pics?
I'm thinking each model might have a different colour scheme, make it easier in KT.
Cheers

Making it easier to identify your pieces and their function on the tabletop can be both very helpful for planning and increasing your turn speed. Unless there if a rule against it, I say go ahead with it.

Well all 7 DG are assembled. Started working on one, I like to get atleast 1 character done (or well started) to help give me the inspiration to keep going. Work on deathgaurd imgur.com/a/hLF0xlaKeeping this first guy a shade of green... Process for him so far Zenithal prime Whole model covered in sephia wash Mix of orange yellow and green army painter speed paint applied to various areas on the model. Metallica then added and bones/skulls painted off-white. Then covered everything in black oil... Now looking for highlights and basing . Need to find out how to make a nice vibrant ooze color and a way to get that aqua coloured rust I see a lot.

Well.... The AOS stuff is on hold because we have a built and primed box of Leviathan.... so what side first?
I'm thinking the dreadnought so I gave something cool and accomplished to look at during the slog
