I’ve heard the mortal wounds weakness about custodes a few times, any change they make to that will be hard to implement as it’s a detachment rule. When the codex comes out they’ll have about 5 other detachments that won’t have that protection, would they just have to be a faction that just has to live with a dev wounds weakness?

They just have to write in the data slate that all FNP against Mortal Wounds also apply to Devastating Wounds.

I get that, when their codex comes out though they will have 5 other detachments that won’t have any devastating or mortal wound protection. So they will have to adapt or just play 1 detachment forever

So they will have to adapt or just play 1 detachment forever I'd say the problem isn't that Custodes are particularly weak to Devastating Wounds, it's that their detachment ability does stone nothing in a lot of games. Likely their best Codex detachment will be something that boosts their offense or mobility, because that's what all of the best detachments do. Trying to survive is a fool's errand.

I don't disagree with the idea that it's a detachment rule and if someone choice another option they are making the CHOICE to not have it. Right now off the top of my head there are - All custodes - Dark angel terminators - Tau Broadsides All these units have a rule to give a FnP vs Mortal wounds which use to protect vs dev and now they don't AND have not seen a point change. They need to address the issue with point drops to reflect not having protection or need to include a FnP vs mortals AND Dev wounds. Both solutions are fine and both require all of 10 minutes to fix.

Looks like next week is going to be the 40k recap from LVO, I'd imagine the dataslate is going to drop right after that so they can have a bit more time to analye and adjust pieces based on those results.

That's sad... I'm waiting to figure out what last models I need to paint for clubs. Was hoping to get it today with a points update so I had more time to finish them.

I am an enjoying the YouTube videos about the delay to the Balance Dataslate…they had convinced themselves that 25 Jan would be the date.
Would like to see the Dark Angels points so I can pull the trigger on my Clubs list.

Yeah amazing how people can get mad at GW about a rumor'd date that GW never said was the day... the comments on their facebook page are a bit ridiculous. The worldwide community sure likes to punish GW for engaging with them lol... short memories regardless it will be next week, lots of time to implement before champs (I mean honestly we're all just going to do the adjustments and list building day it drops aren't we?). I'd find it hard to believe it will radically change points to most armies where a build is completely out the window, especially since locally we don't really play the GT meta spam armies anyways. It'll be fine (stop looking at me Tyranids on the shelf I said it'll be fine!)
