And I've heard Wood Elves and Brets after O&G, TK, Beasts, WoC, Dark elves, skaven, vamps, empire, etc. - i.e. NEVER!!!

..... and I've heard dwarfs in November! Notice the sounds of crickets and/or rustling of tumble weed when Bretonnia or Wood Elves are mentioned

yeah, sadly I haven't heard a whisper about either one... other than people getting annoyed by the lack of updates

Poor Bretonnians....Seriously, I didn't think they were such an unpopular army to get 0 updates since what, 5th or 6th edition? Wood Elves I can kinda see despite them being more common around here.
I'm pretty shocked to see The Hobbit as their Christmas release....LotR stuff generally isn't a big seller, and Christmas is likely a big time for GW. Maybe their hoping that the popularity of the movie releasing will get parents buying it for kids for the holidays?

Fuck you GW. Thanks for releasing all the armies I play within a Calendar year. My wallet weeps.
Oh wait, I guess I should be excited.. but Lizzies and DE back to back... sigh.

yeah, I don't think you're gonna get much sympathy for having armies actually released you like!
poor brets... they and the wood elves need a release pretty bad... reminds me of tomb kings and ogres at the release of 8th... but that actually eventually happened at least (and back to back no less) so maybe the brets and WE are next year? Maybe they'll be in the starter box for 9th! (now THAT is a purchase I'd make!) Just wishlisting on my part, but it if actually comes true I called it!

I got Eldar, High Elves (who admittedly I did not buy into), Marines with a White Scars mini-dex and then Convergence from Privateer.... And I haven't really bought much in the way of models in like 4 years...

I'm somewhat happy for Dark Elves. Maybe with a new book I will finally get my models painted. Of course a new book will likely mean having to buy new models (which I'd rather not have to). I'd love to see Brets get done so then I'd have motivation to paint up the horde of knights I have sitting in a box on the shelf.

I just wish that the release order for new army books/codices made some sense. Release current edition versions for all (or most) of the armies before changing the damn game editions again!

It used to be that there was never a chance of every book getting updated before a new edition. Now with the new edition of 40k and the release schedule they've stuck to since launch gives hope to that idea.

I would like to see them stick to an edition for 6-7 years before swapping again. 4-5 years is not enough when they have a combined release schedule with 40k and LotR stuff concurrently.

Ah but apparently there's 10 army books/codex being released this year... at that rate they'll be updated in no time! lol....
Dark Angels, Warriors of Chaos, Fantasy Daemons, 40k Daemons, High Elves, Tau, Eldar - 7 released already!
we know about: Apocolypse, Lizardmen, space marines, Dark elves, and possibly guard... they might hit a full 12! (and think back 1-2 years ago... if someone would have said 12 major releases in a year they'd be laughed right off the internet!)
5 warhammer armies in one year! can anyone ever remember a year that's happened? (we used to call 3 books a "fantasy year")
so there's 15 fantasy armies... before this year in all of 8th edition there were FIVE armies updated... now we're getting five just this year alone! keep it up GW!!!!!
I for one applaud their attempts to support their game by making us spend all our money! oh....wait... lol...
