So I think I've found my favorite list yet. Keeps more to the usual line of fluff of a Night Lords' Warband, this version involves a story I made up involving a Warpsmith from the Iron Warriors that got picked up and has been roaming with the Warband... with his pets.
HQ
Chaos Lord 180
Black Mace
Gift
Sigil of Corruption
Jump Pack
Mark of Tzeentch
Veteran of the Long War
So here we have my Lord that I've been slowly tweaking the story of to match his layout- and while I am still going to have his Company plagued by Slaanesh, the Mark of Tzeentch in this way works more into his jump pack becoming more of a part of him through the warps' twisting ways. Pretty much think of lightning reflexes on crack. (Hence Sigil + Tzeentch for a dodgey style guy. plus he needs it to join the Talons.)
Warpsmith 185
Aura of dark Glory
Gift
Axe of Blind Fury
Mark of Khorne
Your friendly neighborhood Warp smith dedicated to Khorne... Hence his pets. You'll see them below. Iron Within...
Troops
10 Cultists 50
10 Cultists 50
10 Chaos Space Marines 215
2 Plasmaguns
Veterans of the Long War
Rhino
9 Chaos Space Marines 220
Bolters swapped to CCW
Meltagun
MB (Champ)
Mark of Khorne
Icon of Wrath
Rhino
Dirge Caster
General troops for overall obvious purposes. The Chaos Marines will roam up the mid field bunny hopping cover for the Fiends and Talons. The Khorne Squad will obviously be the home for the Warpsmith.
Fast Attack
Heldrake 170
Baleflamer
Heldrake 170
Baleflamer
7 Warp Talons 282
Two Gifts
Mark of Tzeentch
Heavy Support
Maulerfiend 125
Maulerfiend 125
3 Oblits 228
Mark of Nurgle
It hits on 2k Points EXACTLY (which is a feat to attain with this codex let me tell you...) and uses a lot of my initial gut feelings when I first looked at the codex for my favorite looking models and seemed to have some relatively cool rules. Though he's only WS 3.... the Warpsmith is a freaking beast with this layout. d6+5 base attacks or d6+7 attacks on the charge is really crazy... All at STR 7 AP 2 on the charge. So yeah, he's a beatstick for sure. Kinda liking this one so will hopefully get to test this out soon so I can see if it's really worth it before buying another fiend and dragon... (Though I think I likely will either way the kits are awesome and in pairs I really think they'll work out.)
