I know Dany but I don't have the weekend 100% confirmed with Mike yet... I don't want to have to say one thing then have to change it... that would mess up everyone!
I'm trying to work on ideas where we have a good prize pool...swag so everyone gets something and prizes for the winners

All 40k models need to be on circular bases if possible... why would your tyrant be on a square base? they don't even come with them!
You need to have models be WYSIWYG - that means what you see is what you get... honestly most people aren't going to know a devourer from a deathspitter... but it's hard to say your dudes are armed with swords if they are holding a gun... it's one of the big rules of modelling in 40k and a general rule for all tournaments.
a genestealer cannot be a broodlord... they are very different models... and each represent something in the codex... now if you want to convert a genestealer, using bits and other legs or something to make it bigger / more impressive than a normal genestealer and put it on a 40mm base, you can certainly call THAT a broodlord... that's the difference between a conversion of a model and just saying "this genestealer is really the broodlord" (ie: proxy)
proxy a model when you are building your force and trying to figure out what to buy / build (it saves you money!) but when you're playing in a tourney, it's real model or conversion...

when you get closer to the tourney (like a couple months from now) worry about specifics such as that... if it's a few models that are close to WYSIWYG then I'm sure it won't be a problem...

I was talking with Walker about this on sat when I was in at Nexus, there's a possibility of the sidearm of the Emperor's finest (or greatest traitors) as a grand prize.
Also, where might I register for said tourney? Only at Nexus?

ooooh.... that would be freaking awesome....
the registration isn't up yet... it will be this month... promise!
(I need to get the player pack done first as it's not fair to have people register for a tourney without knowing the rules!)

Registration I hope will be opened on December 8th... if all goes well... that way those who attend the tourney who aren't active on the site will learn of the announcement, and can register right there...

Just be clear to your opponent what they represent... girls with swords are pretty universal... most people would easily get that one I think
