maybe because Iyanden is not just Wraith at all...They use pretty much everything Eldar use but are low on it. I like the color and I also like the additional rules. Its not my ultimate fluff list but I want Eldar to be my competitive army.

Matt (Im asking you cz I know you run lots) whats more effective 6 jetbike 2 shurikan or 9 jetbike 3 shurikan. By more effective I mean is 9 overkill and you found 6 its better?

The reason for 6+Lock Danny is not because of it's offensive output, it's the ability to hide it. Eldar jetbikes are still officially on 60mm Flying Stands, which means the unit has a VERY large footprint even when dealing with 6 models. 9 Models is just too tough to hide.

Ray said it exactly. I actually didn't take a 'lock with either of my squads, and was content with doing it that way. Guardians on foot really need conceal, and though jetlocks are very good (And nice to eat challenges that you don't want your Farseer in) they're pricey...
Another big thing that IS related to offense is that two squads of 6 can still happily shoot the same target, but can also target separate things if you wipe your first target or have a bunch of light vehicles to deal with. They were awesome to have knocking out side armour on Chimera chassis and Landspeeders.
Are they still officially on 60s? I have one squad on those and one on the small ones, just what I got my hands on.

As an addition to the thread, I thought I would post up a tactic I used to great success in the tournament. It involves the manipulation of the fearless rule and going to ground using the Avatar. I hung my avatar out just outside of 12" of my Guardian and Ranger units when I knew they were going to come under fire, doing my best to keep him alive as well. As soon as those units were shot at, I went to ground for the strong cover save and lost few models. My opponent would then act accordingly thinking I would have weak return fire next turn. The avatar would then move to bring the units within 12" of himself, suddenly making them Fearless and therefore causing them to stand up and function normally in my shooting phase. This tactic was a definite game winner against Dave in the last game.

I've been making use of that as well. Being able to manipulate your army using the Fearless bubble of the Avatar is a game changer. It REALLY makes those guardian hordes scary.
One of the other Tactics I've been using is an extension of castling using Guardian Blobs. If you spread out your Guardians to max coherency, you can cover ALOT of table space. If your really sneaky, you can leave 5" (Large blast size) holes, which if someone is silly enough to try to put a drop pod in (which is 4" and hence can land safely in the hole) then the whole unit dies sine they can't legally disembark! You can control huge sections of table like this. Moving your guardians around cover to cover is a big deal. Especially given how fast you are with battle focus.

Yeah, I was really impressed at how quickly the blob could cover ground. Once things got inside my deployment zone they were able to bounce from target to target very quickly. Still not sure I'll ever be fielding 2 blobs over a squad of jetbikes, but I very much love the one I have.

How did your warlocks do at the tourney Ray? Mine basically just failed psychic tests whenever it was important, but I'm still kinda loathe to remove them from the Guardian unit.

Mine did extremely well. While I would say both of them only got their powers off during the same turn 3 or 4 times, It was a huge help. I did suffer a perils on one of them and he blew up during my 3rd game, but so far my powers have mostly been up when I need them.

I found I didn't cast a lot with them for fear of nuking them on a turn when I didn't need the power, and they often failed to go off turns I needed them, though they did save me at least once. I imagine the Guardian blob will keep one, but I'm pretty content having removed the jetbiker 'lock.

Ray... you'd intentionally leave a drop pod sized hole that would kill all the occupants due to that rule, to try and bait them to land there, knowing full well they'd just hand you the squad?
seems a little dirty, given you'd basically be trying to take advantage of someone who wasn't aware of the rule... premeasuring exists after all, anyone who knew better would measure it first... so taking advantage of novice players?
I might be wrong of course, but seems a little... I don't know... dirty pool...

I wouldn't intentionally try to make them land there and kill the unit. I'm not dirty enough to let them do it without them knowing the rule (AKA I'd warn them if they put their pod there). It was just an example of how you can control your opponent's deep strike using board control and large body count units.

On another note, I'm not 100% sure that Jetbikes are on 60mm, but they are officially still on the Vehicle Flying Stand as far as I know, which is somewhere around that size.
Also Matt, I took your Fast Shot Avatar Advice and it really paid off today. Very neat trick for 10 points!
