spec ops can only be used in a campaign. You need the XP from campaign to make a spec ops work.
I think we were just thinking first 4 from ITS cus it was easy. Just my thoughts.

Got it. My concern is precisely that the first four scenarios from ITS are far from being the easiest ones. I just think it's bette to stick to scenarios that are fairly straightforward and which do not present balance issues (such as Lifeblood, for example).

I am going to review the ITS2014 and find 4 scenarios that work with ease. I will post them later today and then people can decide if they will work.
I think that a 200 tourney would be best. I know most people around only have 150 but I think that if we ran this most people would buy one or two more models.

I think Supplies should be in the running for scenarios. Infinity is meant to be played with objectives, and at least having one like supplies should be okay. If I recall correctly, that's three boxes in the middle and then fighting over them, while trying to carry them away. That doesn't seem overly complicated to me, and shouldn't make list construction too hard.
Also, on Spec-ops. Personally I'm fine with it, but if that's the case I'd suggest more objective based games. Spec-ops can easily be kitted out to fulfill most objectives and be rather defensive while doing it, I think. Especially since you can have most of them in a link team of some kind.

Wait, Spec-Ops are linkable? I know most of the Dire Foes characters are, but I thought Spec-Ops couldn't be part of a link team.
I agree on the subject of Supplies. I tried it with Mike last week and it worked great. Seize the Antennae looks like a good one also.
Also, should people be allowed to come to the Tournament with two different lists or just the one?

Spec-ops are linkable depending on their base class. For example, if you have a spec-op for Haqqislam and use the profile as a Muyib, you can link him in a muyib link. The reason being is that his base profile is still that of a Muyib.
Also, I would say one list. As far as I know ITS does not allow for two list format. The reasoning being is that Infinity isn't supposed to be a game about JUST killing everyone. Having two lists inevitably skews list building to one being murder, and the other being less murder. Focusing on one list will have everyone at the same handicap of having to complete objectives while still having firepower. It's also worth noting that most specialists have dual roles as well. A hacker defends from hacking, and can be used offensively against HI. Engineers can set of placed explosive from afar. Doctors are doctors.
edit: Nevermind, apparently you can have two lists. If this is the case let's just have it be two lists same faction/sectorial. Splitting sectorials or factions is not allowed.

Spec ops does not work for regular play or ITS.
Because they cost the same as their base unit then you upgrade them. The point value doesn't change.
If we did that I could put a out 10 point fusilier that no one could stop.
Try it on the army builder and you'll see what I mean.
I am still reviewing the ITS. I have been playing a lot of games lately and yes, over complicated scenarios don't work.
I'll post later for the easy ITS ones.

There is specifically an ITS spec-ops tournament mode. That is what I'm referring to. This allows for a specs-op with up to 12 experience.

Oh ok. I know what you are talking about. Sorry. I thought you meant straight up spec ops no limits.
So then yes , I agree we should/could include spec ops.

Oh no, I'd never say anything like that. I fully agree that'd be silly to randomly allow people to use them when others don't have access. Though I guess we'll have to try using spec-ops in friendly games first to see if everyone wants to use one, and I guess we should give all the scenarios a try first.

Here are the ITS 2014 scenarios I think are the simplest and most straight forward but still allow a lot of flex in lists.
Quadrant control Supplies Frontline seize the antennae
Also we should look at including this one
annihilation - Low tier (this would be great for a good ol' gunfight)
Thoughts?

I've just taken a quick glance at them, but they seem good. We'll also probably need to figure out a set day for people to come down and learn how to play the game.

I agree that a demo day is great.
I would say on a Sunday from 1-5ish.
Play a few 150 point games maybe 3 each. Straight up murder make scenarios to get he hang of it all.
We could most likely accommodate 4 other people if most people showed up. I have no trouble teaching people to play as long as we keep it simple.
Thoughts?

I'd like a demo day. I've played only 3 so far, and still don't have a good handle on everything.

If it's on Sunday I'll be busy with a Pathfinder game I'm in, but I'm pretty sure you've played more and are more familiar with the rule set than me Mike.
