Is this something people would be interested in? If so, please post in the topic. Also, I'd like people's opinions on the prize format for the tournaments because CB does actually have tournament packs that has ITS points included.

I am so in.
I think if we got the medium pack and had 6 people enter it would only cost $10 each.
Thoughts on a date?

I would be interested, but like always - can't say for sure just based on my typical weekend schedules.

Alright, well it'd either be 150 points or 200 points. As for a date, I'd have to ask Mike and also see when the actual tournament pack would come in.

I say we shoot for 200 points.
A lot of ITS scenarios call for Engineers, hackers and specialist troops. Its hard to fit them in at 150.
Just saying,
Mike

That's very true. Would we like to do any restrictions then? Something similar to the proposed beginner tournament we talked about earlier with a restriction on model count and some abilities? Also the disclosure of "surprises"?

The minimum point level for ITS is 200 pts (low tier). There's also 300 pts (mid-tier) and 400 pts (high tier). That being said, there's nothing stopping us from having a beginner tournament outside of the ITS structure (YAMS and the likes).
I played a couple 200 pts games with Mike on Friday and it was fairly manageable. Not much more to deal with than at 150 pts (though TAGs become a possibility, as I discovered).
Another possibility would be to use a mini-tournament digital pack. It would cost a couple dollars per player and allow two to four players to get ITS points. We could even get one every week.

I really do like the idea of 200 points. I know for some people it means buying a couple of models but it also means a little bit more SWC and more options.
Like I said if we can get 6 people we would be good. Right now I count 7.
Me Jeff Patrick Adam Tim Kiel Jae-lin( I think that's ho you spell it)
At $10 per person we would get a great tourney pack.

Well that's assuming everyone can go. I guess it'd probably be on a Sunday, and we'd need a few tables set up. Do we have enough terrain yet? Something I've noticed is that some buildings would probably be nice, not ruins. xP

I think if we used pretty much all the terrain we could make about 4 tables. I think if we ran it on a sunday and we can in early, like around 9 to start at 10 we could set up.
I think we could do something like this.
1. board is all dense forests and hills with a couple of ruins, maybe like a crashed dropship theme. 2. Boards is all containers like a warehouse/dock yard. 3. Board is all urban ruins, buildings and such. like a bombed out city. 4. A mix of everything
That would give 4 very distinct boards and still have enough terrain to go around.
I would even be will to set it up.
Just my thoughts.

Themes are definitely a good idea, we can talk about this more in person sometime. My main concern is enough terrain in deployment zones to have it at least be defendable from being attacked.

I think we could fit enough into the deployment zones to make them defendable.
I was looking at ITS 2014 scenarios again and it seems that after a good read most players are going to need engineers and hackers. This is a good thing as it will draw points away from things like Airborne deployment and impersonations.
I having been playing a fair bit lately and AD: combat jump isn't that scary, and if someone deploys right then nothing is really that bad.
I would love to see this happen. Next time we meet we will definitely talk about this.
